For her next act, Jane Fonda has entered the war against the Iraq war. At the tail-end of yesterday's on-the-Mall rally, organized by United for Peace and Justice, Fonda stood onstage with the Capitol behind her and addressed the sun-drenched thousands. "I haven't spoken at an antiwar rally in 34 years," she said. But, "Silence is no longer an option."
The first time Fonda, 69, spoke out for peace, the country was soul-deep in the Vietnam War. In the ensuing decades, as the nation has gone through a slew of changes, so has Fonda.
As a young woman, the daughter of actor Henry Fonda was an actress, a feminist and anti-Vietnam War activist. She morphed into a workout maven, post-feminist arm candy for billionaire media magnate Ted Turner, a vocal Christian and an autobiographer. With 2005's "Monster-in-Law," she defibrillated her movie career.
Yesterday, with her daughter, Vanessa Vadim, and two grandchildren nearby, she was again front and center as actress, feminist and opponent of war.
Her life has come full circle......."

That is obvious, they want to become bigshots like Woodward and Bernstein, Watergate was the media power High point.
The entire left wing remembers that era fondly. Hillary Clinton herself was on inquiry staff advising the House Judiciary Committee on impeachment during Watergate.
Would it be cynical to suggest that Fonda's return to "activism" coincides with her lack of available roles in movies? Come now Jane, isn't this really more about face-time and pub than principle?
I really believe the anti-war crowd has jumped the shark by dragging out this tired icon of anti-Americanism. Watch for a blowback.

Really? A vocal Christian? She could be using her celebrity to further the cause of Christ and honor those men and women who are defending our freedom to worship Him. But no.....she aligned herself with the Hollywood left. May God bless our troops and put the hedge of protection around them.

This commie shrill piece of slime is not one of my sisters in Christ. She is still vile,evil, putrid and callow. As as a child, I don't remember her like many do but I know how she turned on the military and there were many in my family serving at the time and some in Vietnam.
Fonda needs to slither back under her rock. She is a disgrace. As for the Conservative, let's turn out like this at the ballot boxes in 2008.
A nice and simple "Traitor Jane" could be used for all occasions.
