I believe an orange, naturally growing on a tree, has more than 30 known carcinogens in it. All citrus fruits do. And they are also lethal to many small life forms. That's one reason why compost pile aficionados say never to put citrus peel in the pile.
And good old caffeine is the coffee and tea plants' defense against moles and such (it causes their teeny little hearts to redline and conk out).

I used to have my suits dry cleaned. It made the hair fall out of my head and grow out of every where it ain't supposed to. It gave me a pot belly. My teeth fell out. I can't see or hear and I don't smell too good either. My bones creak and I can't run ten miles anymore. It made my s--- hard and my d--- soft. I died a week ago next Tuesday. I ain't gonna use a dry cleaner no more.

And don't forget almonds. We have thousands of orchards growing that carcinogen packed nut of death.
We should ban all natural foods as dangerous to mankind.
In this day and age science can provide us with delicious and nutritious Soylent Green!

"It could shut down some mom-and-pop operations -- the little guys that can't afford it,"
LOL!
That didn't stop them from putting the mom and pop gas stations out of business with their mandate to replace all fuel storage tanks.

They want cancer warnings on Cheerios, Fritos, MacDonald's and Burger King fries...and the list goes on.

We're being told that about $800 million worth was lost to frost bite.
What they aren't telling you is that the crop isn't lost.
They'll juice the frost damaged oranges.

In the mid-1980s, EPA considered the epidemiological and animal evidence on tetrachloroethylene as intermediate between a probable and possible human carcinogen (Group B/C). The Agency is currently reassessing its potential carcinogenicity. Thank you for providing information that supports my point that clinical studies have not conclusively demonstrated that perchloroethylene is a carcinogen.
To: diamond6
Yep...I don't remember the exact number, but there are dozens of carcinogenic chemical compounds, occurring naturally in all citrus plants--They are just in concentrations so low that it is not dangerous to humans--like most chemicals we come in contact with. So, don't stop eating those oranges....we need all the help we can get here in California...
