So BOTH our flaming socialists are waving the hammer-and-sickle pushing for disasterous socialized medicine....notice that NIETHER of them can expound upon the VIRTURES of socialized medicine because there are none -- just go talk to Canadians about their great system...how few people it servers compared to the USA population and ask them why they keep coming to the USA for health care...

There now. That looks better. ;o) I think every candidate has included universal health care in their platform. THAT'S how far down the slippery slope we've gone!

The state of healthcare in this country is that most Americans have good healthcare by insurance, and quite a few do not, however the ones without are usually taken care of by the "safety net" of just showing up at the ER.

If we think of those Americans with good health insurance as having a whole pie, and those without health insurance having a small slice of pie, the universal healthcare promoters would have us believe that their system will provide everyone with a whole pie. Not so.

What will result is that everyone will be given half a pie, with the rich being able to buy the rest of their pie, and those with only half a pie waiting for months for surgery and diagnostics and waiting in lines for a government doctor.

And don't forget, the vast beaurocracy would take back a quarter of each person's pie, because someone has to pay for all those clerks and buyers and logistics managers and case reviewers and schedulers and overseers. So we all get left with a quarter of a pie and higher taxes. An outcry will go up over the unsatisfactory performance and the Democrats will lovingly respond, saying that's right, this is not enough, we simply must take more pie from "the rich", meaning everyone who is not a cashier or union member. Then we'll be broke and have half a pie. Woo hoo, I can't wait.

Turns out, according to an actual study, less than one tenth of one percent of Canadians come to the US for medical care.
