More proof that some people have entirely too much time on their hands.

Sounds like someone is a little touchy. Too many donuts this morning?
Okay, that wasn't nice.....
Seriously though, I've done quite a bit of work with and for various law enforcement agencies. My experience is that the majority (not all) would rather not deal with violent criminals.

Correction: Texas Mayor Proposes Ordinance to Ban Freedom of Speech.

>>>make using the word in an offensive fashion a crime
So, the government is going to determine whether it is INTENDED to offend? >>>
Or it's my four year old absent mindingly singing "Tigger Tigger Tigger-Pigger Pigger Pigger-Digger Digger Digger" and you get the idea, while holding her Tigger doll from Winnie the Pooh. Of course we were in line and I said her name bruskly when she got to the "N" and she had no idea why I was upset. I was mortified. Luckily there were no fines then...

First step (or maybe intermediate step) toward Canadian style "hate speech" laws. In Canada such laws prohibit reciting certain passages of the Bible or even citing true statistics if someone is offended by them.

Who gets to decide if it's used in an offensive fashion?

I guess the movies "Back to the Future" and "JFK" will need to be reedited.

Who gets to decide if it's used in an offensive fashion?White liberals, who have long ago positioned themselves as being the ones who know what's best for everyone else, regardless of such inconvenient barriers such as the Constitution, Law, common sense, etc.

Your donut comment doesn't bother me. I've heard many, many juvenile comments during the thirty years that I was a cop.
I feel sorry for your community. Either your police force sucks and are cowards or you have an ax to grind. With the preponderence of anti police types that frequent this site, I lean towards the ax grinding on your part.
Good day.

Actually, the police in my community are pretty good at what they do. Of course there is very little violent crime where we live, which is one of the reasons we moved into this neighborhood in the first place, but the police are kind, courteous, and helpful. Then again, that is what they are paid to be, community servants, not community tyrants.
Then again, we do live less than 10 miles from Philadelphia where the murder rate hit more than 1 a day. I wish I had all the crime stats in front of me so I could list out the actual totals but since I don't, I won't even get into a discussion about LEO priorities in the city. It has been my personal experience (notice I said "MY personal experience) dealing with the police in different parts of this country that they would rather harass teens for having their stereos turned up too loud than patrol the neighborhoods where the violent crimes are occurring. Patroling those "violent" ares would be dangerous and that's why the police avoid them at all costs.
My initial comment was a little jab at the LEO community but by your "what do you know about real police work" comment I sense that you are a more than a little sensitive about the issue. Is that because you are a great cop and all your fellow officers are/were great cops? Possibly. I think it is more likely that even if you were a good cop, you saw the same BS occur around you everyday when you were out on the street.
Am I wrong? Or are you going to tell me that all policemen are dedicated and hardworking? Are you going to try to tell me that the police departments haven't become politicized to the point that nobody wants to risk doing the right thing because it will kill their chance for promotion?
Or maybe you want to tell me why police organizations around the country are so upset that honest, law abiding citizens are fighting for their right to carry concealed weapons? Is it because they are afraid that they will be exposed as ineffective when the crime rates start to drop?
Personally I don't care which way you lean on my motives for posting. You embody the "little man, big gun" attitude I have come to expect of most policemen who take the job just to show everyone how cool/tough/important they are. I'm sorry that you were picked on in High School but it is time to let it go.
To: edcoil
Will the law prosecute blacks who use the "N" word against other blacks? I'm sure the law will be weighted against whites who use it. Slowly but sureley the Bill of Rights is going down the toilet.
To: gruffwolf
I call you on your juvenile comment and suddenly I "embody the little man, big gun attitude". LOL! You've simply made my point by making more juvenile comments. Had you left out your childish attempts at insulting me I would have been glad to discuss some of your points, such as the police being anti CCW. Your ignorance on that subject is obvious as well.
Good day.
