How and why is this story important to your average American?

This story about Zimbabwe is important to the average American (provided he/she ever hears about it) by demonstrating yet once again that implementing Communism ultimately leads to mass starvation. See North Korea for another example. Mass starvation is both a political tool of control and the end result. Mass starvation could happen even in America if the Communists ever take control.
