Black leaders still sizing up Obama

Obama had one black parent who wasn't even American. He grew up from age 2-10 in Indonesia with a Muslim step-father and then spent the rest of his time in Hawaii with his white mother. The only reason he's called "African-American" is simply because of skin-tone, not because of any cultural or ethnic factor. He has no relationship at all to any of the U.S. civil rights struggles. About the closest he comes is having had a teenaged mother and a black father who abandoned him at an early age.

Obama isn't even half African-American. Nor is Colin Powell. Neither are African-Americans.
