It's an old argument -- to spank or not to spank children. Now California could theoretically be the first state to outlaw parental spanking. The proposal includes penalties of up to a year in jail and fines of as much as $1000 dollars. The Mountain View legislator who proposed it is instant national news.........

In a real experience, my daughter was 3 years old and while I was barbequeing, she kept trying to see what was on the grill by grabbing onto it. While I could have just let her burn her hands, I told her to stop and when she tried again, I spanked her hand. She got the idea and stopped.
I guess I am a criminal. I swatted my kid's hand.
This Stalinist Democrat thinks that because SHE believes people should not spank their children, she will use the power of the government to stop them.
She needs to be stopped.
Oh, and if this wasn't bad enough, if you read up on her legislative history, she is trying to get murderers and rapists out on parole because she believes they are being treated too harshly in our prisons.
Life is physical. Kids need to be reminded that live is physical and has physical consequences. Everything in life is not by the queen's rules or after you Alfonse.
Remember the American kid in Malaysia that got caned for keying some guys car? I'll bet he never does that again.
All "liberals" are disconnected from the realities of the world. They think words are reality
I need to correct a comment I made earlier re: her marital status , her state assembly bio says she is married, not single. but she does have a politically astute black-and-white cat., no kids, got those parts right.

I suppose she also believe that if we get rid of spanking then our schools will be safe from violence and teachers will have no discipline issues.
"The legislator, an extreme liberal with no children..."
By Barbara Boxer's logic, that would disqualify her from rendering such a decision.
Yeah! I remember that. I wonder whatever happened to him...
If she HAD burned her hand, you would have been charged with neglect and some wacko judge would then put her in foster care. Why don't we just let the state raise our kids, and forget about parenting???/s
So she's not "Married With Children," then, right? (like the old TV show) How can she legislate about children if she's as barren as Condolezza? Huh?
This "legislator" has been all over talk radio shows all day long. Even Ronn Owens of Liberal KGO was beating her up, today!!! It was fun to listen too, actually. Good post, Paloma...
"Yeah! I remember that. I wonder whatever happened to him..."
His name was Michael P. Fay. He was in more trouble in Malaysia before he vandalized the cars. He got in more trouble with drugs back in the States after the caning.
He suppposedly has ADD or ADHA, some attention disorder so forth and so on.
Me, I was just a day dreamer in school, bored to death.
she's not "Married With Children,"
---
She's a Marcy and definitely not a Peg
If I was al bundy, I'd dig a hole in the basement and climb in it and have the dog cover me up if she was a lieber or a boxer . ;-)
I don't understand! You mean like a square Peg in a round Hole? Whatchewtawlkinabout?
Peg Bundy , Al's wife on married with Children, the goofy neighbor couple were Steve and Marcy. I was trying to remember the dog's name, Buck. They never hit their kids, btw.
that's how everything starts. once the law is passed it won't be long before someone decides to include up 6 yr. olds... then 9 yr olds! until there is no physical discipline and our children will grow alien to the term discipline. and then our society will decay even further. socialist crap
As long as the new law includes a replacement "spanking allowed" clause for California lawmakers (and the Governor), I may go with it.
Butt out--get it?
C'mon, somebody had to say it.
The guy with no military experience (and two whole years in the Senate!) and no kids of military age
The woman with no military experience and a kid who will never be in the military.
Gonna be fun!
