A man walks on a street of Little Havana in Miami January 16, 2007. The latest rumour whispered on the crumbling streets of Havana is that ailing leader Fidel Castro cannot appear in public because he lost his hair - and his famous beard - to chemotherapy for cancer. Cubans searching for reasons for the almost six-month public absence of the 80-year-old revolutionary can only speculate about what's wrong with him, for lack of official word. They do not know what he has or even where he is being treated. REUTERS/Carlos Barria (UNITED STATES)

A Cuban diplomat in Madrid said Tuesday that the newspaper's report was "an invented story."
"It's another lie and we are not going to talk about it. If anyone has to talk about Castro's illness, it's Havana," said the diplomat, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with normal diplomatic practice.

Spanish surgeon Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, left, walks back towards the Gregorio Maranon Hospital in Madrid, Wednesday, Jan 17, 2007, after taking a break. The Spanish newspaper El Pais reported Tuesday that Cuban leader Fidel Castro is in grave condition after three failed operations, citing two unidentified sources from the Gregorio Maranon hospital that employs surgeon Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, who flew to Cuba in December to treat the 80-year-old Castro. He was afraid people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him and the colostomy bag.

In standard colostomies, patients are dependent on such bags for approximately six weeks. 9 months for me.

Castro doesn't need a colostomy. He already has a second rectum. It's called his mouth.

The great Fidel Castro experiencing a profoundly painful slide towards death caused by his own feces infecting his abdominal cavity and anus...this horrible end couldn't happen to a more deserving guy, and it must give some satisfaction to those Cubans and Cuban exiles who managed to avoid being murdered by him during his reign of terror. Perhaps, after all, there is a small amount of justice in this world.

Re:
After removing an inflamed piece of Castro's large intestine in an operation last year, the doctors connected the remainder directly to his rectum, rather than attaching a colostomy bag, El Pais said, quoting two medical sources at Madrid's Gregorio Maranon hospital. The operation failed when a suture burst.

Similar to exhaust manifold straight out through the tail pipe, bypassing the muffler. I bet his farts sound just as loud too!
