They should not be pardoned given their actions around covering up their shooting of a guy who was running away. Think about the message that sends to the cops.

11-12 years to a bit much though.

Keep calling the White House comment line - 1-202-456-1111 and your respective Senator's offices. This is important. We'll NEVER have good agents if this is allowed to happen.

They were not convicted of shooting the smuggler but for lying about what happened.

Opening our borders to drug smugglers is an impeachable offense.

I've spent 8 years surrounded by liberals defending Bush . This is the last straw . If he doesn't pardon these agents I have lost all faith in the Conservative side of the aisle and this man as POTUS. Libertarian here I come .

Two of your congressmen are going to bat for them. Are they moonbats too? I think they are stand up conservatives, principle to the front, and they are upstanding republicans. So am I to assume your a democrat by the position of your post?

I wouldn't equate his action with Conservatives. The increasingly Socialist leaning Republican party has been distancing it self from Conservatives as time passes. Failure to pardon these men would not be a Conservative action.

Think about the message that sends to the cops.

While I would agree with you on principle, think of the message we are sending the drugs smugglers. This one got immunity in order to testify against the agents and he is now suing OUR government for $5 million dollars. Is that the message we prefer to send?

There is an excellent blog posting with reader comments at LoneStarTimes.com about this case from the DOJ perspective. The DOJ responds to tough questions about the case in greater detail than I've seen before in one place.
