It would be nice if we could "sic" our NOW harpies on radical Islam. I want to see Kim Gandy and her gang of idiots raising hell in Mecca and Riyadh...
Is Islam a Worldwide Problem?
Your idea is a two-fer. First we get those feminazis out of the US, and second, the Arabs won't put up with that nonsense.
Yep. Islam is getting its last chance. It can turn away from its destruction, of just keep on heading off the cliff. Given that Arabs will never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, I give their prospects of survival low odds.
Don't forget this nation has the GLBT alliance groups on every campus in the country -- the T is for the genitally mutilated folks that are presented as an "alternative lifestyle."
The P for pedophile is in there too but it is concealed under the G for sanitary and political purposes.
The Brits managed to put an end to suttee in India. We need to use the same methods they did.
I know there have been some important cases in Canada which have led to some serious moves to prevent immigrants and others from pursuing barbaric practices which they see as 'cultural' or even 'religious'.
"The Criminal Code of Canada continues to be used as a means to address the issue of FGM. For example, it can be used to control the transportation of female children outside the country for the purposes of obtaining FGM. Canada has recognized fear of gender persecution as a ground for claiming refugee status since the early 1990s. In May 1994, the Immigration and Refugee Board granted refugee status to a woman whose 10-year-old daughter would have been subjected to FGM if she had been forced to return to her country of origin. How did the Brits mange to stop that practice? It still does go on in a few cases in India....Roop Kanwar, a childless 18-year old widow, committed sati on 4 September 1987, some allege forcibly, dressed in her red wedding dress, in Rajasthan's Deorala village. Several thousand people were said to have been at the event. After her death, she was hailed as a 'sati mata', meaning pure mother.
Then there is lovely custom.....Dowry Killing.....Sati must not be confused with the equally horrible (and still widespread) practice in India, of burning young brides who are not widows. This is known as dowry killing, and it refers to incidents in which women are murdered by their family-in-law, if insufficient money has been paid to them by her father as dowry. If a man in India dies an untimely death, his widow must still continue to live with her late husband's family. Many of these widows are blamed for the death of her husband, and they are, albeit no longer burned, mistreated and abused by his relatives. She might choose suicide as escape.
Lovely customs. My daughter married a Sikh from India and is in England going to school, she hasn't met his parents yet.....Now I have more to worry about when she goes to visit. I hope they don't want a dowry.
The Brits hung the participants. And yes, I am aware of dowry killing and female infanticide as practiced in several east Asian countries.
Sorry to say, but hub not telling parents is an incredibly bad sign. I have known American sikhs for most of my life, and have had good and bad experiences. The good, they are generally hardworking and not caste conscious as some high caste Indians are. The bad, they can be VERY clannish and in some cases backward (the sikh girls at my high school all got married and dropped out of school at 16). Good luck.

I thought Sikhs were not allowed to marry non-Sikhs.
I know a pediatrician where Muslim parents asked that it be done to their 2 daughters.
They were going to go to court to get it ordered to do so.
NO lawyer would take their case.
DCFS is investigating the parents.
This is the perfect example of the liberal/feminist double standard. If FGM was something that happened primarily in Christian countries, then the liberals and feminists would blame Christianity for it. But since it is happening primarily in Muslim African countries, they refuse to blame Islam even though it is clear that many Muslims think this practice is required or at least permitted by their religion.
