Comet McNaught: Brightest Comet in 30 Years On Display Tonight

.

The brightest comet in thirty years may be able to be seen by the naked eye tonight. Comet McNaught is plunging toward the sun, and the heat is causing it to brighten dramatically. A few days ago, it was barely visible in evening twilight, but now it pops into view while the sky is still glowing blue. Only Venus is brighter.

BBS News is reporting that Comet McNaught has continued to brighten as it approaches the sun and it is now the brightest comet in 30 years.

.

COMETS: Astrology Weekly

The astrological significance of comets has been the subject of much study, but so far no definite conclusions have been reached. Suggestion has been advanced that Donate's comet, which made its first appearance of record in June 1858 and attained its maximum brilliancy on October 9th, was a factor in the nativity of Theodore Roosevelt, born October 27, 1858. It is presumed that comets presage history-making events; but operating through individuals whose birth coincides with their appearance, their effects are so delayed as often to be overlooked.

"When beggars die there are no comets seen; The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes." - Shakespeare.

The year of F. D. Roosevelt's birth was also marked by the appearance of one of the brightest comets of record, which was visible in broad daylight - even at noon.

WIKIPEDIA: They were usually considered bad omens of deaths of kings or noble men, or coming catastrophes. From ancient sources, such as Chinese oracle bones, it is known that their appearances have been noticed by humans for millennia. One very famous old recording of a comet is the appearance of Halley's Comet on the Bayeux Tapestry, which records the Norman conquest of England in AD 1066.[2]

I think you are to look at the sunset.....right after the sun goes down....or sunrise right before the sun comes up. I hear that the further south you are the lower on the horizon. You might be too far south.

I couldn't find it here either, but there was some clouds.

"When beggars die there are no comets seen. The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes."

Unfortunate comparison. The reference was to Julius Caesar going/not going to the senate, where he was assassinated.

God protect President Bush today and always.

It just figures that every time the northern lights are at their best, and comets are visible to the naked eye, we finally get some cloud cover. Dang.

Thanks for the heads up, rface! BTTT

After sunset, the brightest light in the sky in the southwest is Venus. The comet should be a bit north (or to the right of Venus) and a bit below Venus. Happy hunting.

January 10th. Well, fer starters a simple search turns up this:

January 10

•Thomas Paine's Common Sense was published, 1776

London's Metropolitan; World's first underground railway, opened to the public, 1863

•The League of Nations established 1920

•The Holocaust began, 1933

I find that interpreting "astrologers" and their "messages" to be far more of interest.
