WASHINGTON - Illegal immigrants who were caught but released in the United States may have been re-arrested as many as six times, Justice Department data released Monday indicate.

The findings by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine are based on a sampling of 100 illegal immigrants arrested by local and state authorities in 2004, the latest complete data available. They show that 73 of the 100 immigrants were arrested, collectively, 429 times — ranging from traffic tickets to weapons and drug charges.

One arrest should put the trespasser in the system and prevent him from ever being eligible for residence from then on.

From what happened in Arizona late last week with the National Guardsmen at their outpost...Being overrun, or something to that effect...
I was misinterpreted in my critisism of the effort if it appeared I was critical of the guardsmen for retreating...I want to make it clear that I was not...
I was critical of the plan, and it risking people who are on the front lines, that it exaperated a growing problem, and that it was poorly implemented...
Our government has already surrendered to this invasion force and it doesn't make a lick of difference what we think. Citizens are prosecuted for crimes, while non-citizens are turned loose to do it again and again. Americans are expendable victims in the tsunami of open borders and globalization.

It's a great big frickin ha-ha joke, isn't it?. Those numbers indicate that essentially all were arrested 6 times, and to get those numbers, clearly, some have been arrested 10 or 12 times. At least our guys are getting plenty of practice in arrest procedures. Can we add this into the oft-quoted numbers always heard about 1: the hospital emergency room capacity illegals consume, 2: prison space illegals consume 3: add'l school bulding req'ments caused by illegal population explosion 4: Need to print every damn brochure/sign/ballot in 2 languages 5: fill in the blank 6: fill in the blank
How about this: We tatoo a big letter "I" on their forehead when they get caught and before they are released, or at least some kind of stain that will last for at least a year or so. Those who are caught with an "I" on their forehead are put on a chain gang for one year and tatooed again. Those caught with two tatoos are imprisoned for five years, and the bill for their keep sent to the Mexican gov't. If Mexico doesn't pay, increased taxes on their imports pay the bill...or something like that.
Until the burden of costs falls directly on Mexico, they have every incentive to encourage illegal migration and the US is too hung up on being politically correct to do anything about it. I just wish the policians had the guts to take a stand.
Anyone who's arrested six times has at least six victims, surely many more.

Personally, I hesitate to call them Democrats, I think both parties are fervently salivating to cater to this, the largest "new" bloc of potential voters. Absolutely disgusting.

I was actually thinking of clicking my ruby slipper heals together three times and saying:
"There's no place like home..."
But...Where is that home now???
It will only get worse when W and the Dems in Congress pass amnesty with smiles all round. Of course, the public will be aghast and will have to pony up dough to support all these illegals now made legal by fiat. We will have our entire culture changed and we will all kow tow to Mexico every time they want to send even more citizens to our nation because they cannot afford them!
