Las Vegas is trying to hit the jackpot by wooing the Chargers.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman called the Chargers this week inquiring about their interest in moving to his city, Mark Fabiani, the team's general counsel, said today.
The Chargers are looking to relocate from Qualcomm Stadium, but Fabiani said he told Goodman in a return phone call today that the team is concentrating on three locations in San Diego County National City, Chula Vista and Oceanside.

Oceanside would be nice. LV....never!
Chula Vista would be better (and closer, for me).
Looks like the fix is in...
What do you think?
It would never work. Las Vegas is a town that loves winners, and for a pro team to be located there, they would have to be a consistant winner.
I'd much rather see the super bowl go there, but they don't have the stadium.
DUDE! I'm not a big football fan, but it would ROCK having the Chargers here. :D
Can LV draw enough fans to a brand new stadium to make it all worthwhile? My gut says....no.
No! Say it ain't so!
We don't need the traffic in Chula Vista, but 24th Street in National City by the bay has plenty of room that is only being used for auto storage. That would be great for that part of San Diego. Hey Las Vegas...HANDS OFF!
Las Vegas should make firing Marty Schottenheimer part of the deal. Sorry, but I'm (was) a Chiefs fan, and remember his horrible coaching.
I never have been able to figure out exactly how that works.
Would they run up behind them and go "WOOO!!"?
I was disappointed when they hired Marty, recalling him with the Chiefs. Something is working right though. Sometimes I disagree with his play-calling way too conservative. If they have the muscle to pound a team into the dirt they should do it, no need to be politically correct, it's football for God's sake!
yah..I know..but it would be just down the road from me, maybe 5 miles, if it were to be built in/arond the Olympic Training Center. I am here in Otay Ranch. And you are right...trAffic is HORRIBLE!
National City would be good, as well...is the spot being considered for National City west of the 5?
The NFL will never permit it.
The major team sports are scared sh!tless about a gambling scandal as it is.
LV, just be content that you *can* bet on the games and see them on very large screens in nearly every business on the Strip.
That's the spot that I would consider if I was National City, right next to the bay. Chula Vista could also do it. Only problem again would be rush hour traffic on 5.
They will stay in San Diego. They want a new stadium after the city spent tens of millions updating the Q not many years back.
Our South Bay area will build them a new stadium.
The Chargers are extra ticked because the Padres built a new ball park downtown a couple of years ago.
I've never been to Vegas, so correct me if what I've heard is wrong. It's actually a fairly small town with a dense population and of course all the gambling tourism. I would doubt there are enough people there to support professional football.
I thought about rooting for the Chargers this year for teh playoffs because I thought it'd be nice for Marty to get the monkey off his back. It's going to be tough now.
