Castro 'admitted to Spanish hospital'

Fidel Castro was rumoured to be having hospital treatment in Spain.

According to internet reports, the Cuban dictator is staying in a restricted wing of the Gregorio Maranon Hospital in Madrid.

He is said to have arrived on the same plane as the Spanish surgeon who flew to Cuba last week to treat him at the request of the island's authorities.

Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, who works at Gregorio Maranon has denied reports that Castro, 80, is suffering from cancer.

The surgeon said he was recovering well from stomach surgery to repair a problem with his digestive system.

Details of Castro's health problems remain a closely-guarded secret although Cuban authorities have denied he has terminal cancer, as U.S. intelligence officials have claimed.

Castro, who has not appeared in public since July, told the Cuban people his recovery was far from being a 'lost battle' in a New Year message on state television and radio.

Cuban "People's" hospital:

I wonder if the Cuban people know that Fidel is sick and tired of his own "hospitality".

Dang,

Why would Castro leave Cuba for medical treatment?

Doesnt Cuba according to leftist propagandasts have state of the art health care?

Strange; we've heard from liberals for decades about the "wonders" Castro did for medicine and the health care system in Cuba. I guess this means you import a Spanish doctor to Cuba when you're ill and travel to Spain for a Spanish hospital when you're really sick. A four-flushing phoney about to bite the dust.

Perhaps he's trying to find out if General Franco is still dead?

I think he put into his will that he wanted to be buried in Spain.

So when will a Spanish judge issue a warrant for his arrest on genocide charges like they did Pinochet?

Anybody important in Cuba always goes to Spain when they're sick. That said, Spanish hospitals and doctors are not great and nowhere near the level of ours. They are state medicine hospitals, and most of their good doctors are already in the US. Still, they're obviously a heck of a lot better than hospitals in the Tropical Socialist Paradise, the main industry of which is child prostitution.

This is impossible. michael moore has stated that Cuba's healthcare system is the envy of the world. And micheal moore never lies.

suffice it to say, no sarcasm tag necessary.

Oh yeah,Cuban health care is so "wonderfully advanced" that THe HomePOwer magazine guys made a big deal of installing some solar cell power systems to provide refrigeration for village doctors' medicines. The socialist leaning of the editor owner caused me to quit buying the magazine although the technical content was good.I keep hoping sanity will prevail, and I can again buy alternative energy info without supporting dictators.
