This is classic media bias! I happened to be over at newsbusters marvelling at how the media was portraying Saddam's situation when I fired up google news and to my amazement this is what I saw sitting there. CNN's since changed the headline, but as is the case with these media activists they are more honest in their original headline on how they feel about things.
Here's the story as it is now.

Mukie is the new monster, that hasn't been dealt with yet.
[If they don't, they will regret it.]

Its just too bad that Al Sadr wasnt standing next to him with a rope around his neck . They could have stared at each other all the way to the bottom as the slack in the rope ran out.

"Saddam executed with 'fear in his face'"
And a song in his heart.

Personally wish they had put the mask on his face; despite his 'wishes'. . .
As to 'fear.. .defiance'; seems these qualities will be left to interpretation. Just as the following comment offered in this story. . .'Hussein, a Sunni, mockingly uttered one last phrase before he died: "Muqtada al-Sadr," according to Haddad's account.'
Was it 'mockingly'. . .could be; could be something else, perhaps as per just something else Saddam was running through his 'final' mind.
No doubt, the impact and impressions, of course, clearer to those present; but still subject to the 'subjective'.
We know the 'subjective' interpretations that CNN and MSM will proscribe. . .

It seems to me the "Sadaam Died Yellow" headline is far more anti Sadaam. The new headline is the one that makes him heroic.

Defiant to the end, Saddam Hussein mocked Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr moments before he was hanged,
While this does show Hussein wasn't all bad, al-Sadr makes it too easy.

The body should be sent to the democrat party.
Its members like worshipping snakes and rats.
