These social issues need to go to the states for voters to decide.....and the last thing the evangelicals (and the NARAL crowd too) want is for the voters to decide.
well, I wouldn't say "tossed". but 100% litmus test allegiance to them and them alone - doesn't get you a victory. and they keep moving the goal posts - its not just abortion and gay marriage anymore - but a range of other issues now, take a look at the Mary Cheney threads on FR.
