Muhammad's ideology was warped from the get-go. It was all about power, not faith, or they wouldn't have squabbled about who was to take the reins after Muhammad died.

Like many religious zealots, Mohammad used religion as a shield to justify his personal debauchery. The fools are the ones who don't see that and reject it. Of course the fear of walking around headless is a powerful deterrent against dissent. However, many despots do that. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, and others used the religion of Communism, the Workers Paradise, to hide behind.
Communism and Islam have a lot in Common. Both lie and, as Ann Coulter says, the religion of Communism is Godless.
