"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
ADL's Foxman doesn't hold a candle to Dennis Prager inintellect or perspective. Prager has spent his entire adult life bringing understanding amoung the faiths through his speaking and publications. No one has done more in this regard than Prager. ADL needs new leadership fast.
The Hebrew word for them is "Malakhim Raoth."
Dennis Prager is a gentleman and a wonderful example of how to listen to and respectfully dialogue with people of all beliefs (including the ignorant!). Hopefully the good that will come of this is that folks will tune in to Prager's radio show in curiosity and discover what he has to say (and the great way he has of saying it!) for themselves. I very much admire Prager and I'm sure CAIR can't stand someone as decent and respectable and totally accurate as Prager discussing reality on the free airwaves...
Prayers for Prager. Stay strong.
...interesting. I've sworn in for a couple of different duties with different agencies (to uphold/defend/protect federal/state/municipal/laws/defense) and was not required to put my hand on any "bible." I also "affirmed" for jury duty without any "bible" and would not want to do so with one. It is against the Way that I believe in.
So my word (to "affirm") is as good as it will get from me, and I don't want to do anything pagan.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
I disagree with both Prager and Foxman on a number of things regarding my First Amendment rights, BTW, and on a number of things regarding my sincere beliefs.
Neither of them are respected teachers to me. And one cannot go any more conservative way than the way of the Torah (as it applies to each of us all for our various heavier or lighter burdens). All else is libertine, serving our animal desires.
ADL, CAIR and the ACLU are all in the same orbit.
I understand ADL sent letters out to high schools in my area a few years ago regarding "relgious proselytizing" from sports coaches who might invite student players to religious activities.
That's ACLU threat tactics to be sure.
Also during the Dover, PA evolution-intelligent design debate the ACLU helped sponsored a forum at a local university with CAIR as a co-sponsor.
The birds of a feather flock together and leave their droppings behind.
BUMP!
I recall that John F. Kennedy used a specifically Catholic edition of the Bible at his presidential inauguration. Does anybody have any information on this?
American Dhimmi League?
This brings up a question which has puzzled me for some time. Six years ago (remember?) Bill Clinton took some heat (not nearly enough) for commuting the sentences of several Puerto Rican terrorists (probably not Muslims). Europe has the IRA, the ETA, and probably others. There are, or were, the Tamil Tigers in Ceylon, the Shining Path in Peru, the narcoterrorists in Colombia, etc.. We haven't heard much about these groups lately - in fact, since 9/11 - and I don't know why. I doubt it's because they've changed their ways.
I respect and admire Mr. Prager for his political stands (though he was a pacifist on Israel at one time), but he's way out of line here. He's basically advocating a secular "civic religion."
Once again I am reminded that I am far more fundamentalist than conservative.
Evil messengers? Evil angels?
But I thought radical muzzies were creationists? That's what all the evolutionist FReepers have been claiming.
Dennis Prager is one of my favorites, I respect him and enjoy his writings when I get the chance to read them
You know things have gotten bad when the ADL essentially sides with CAIR and sings the same song! Good night nurse! Next thing you know Foxman will start carrying a Koran under his arm. What in the h**l happend to the ADL? (rhetorical question)
Abe Foxman should have been eased out of the ADL leadership position long ago, but we're still waiting, unfortunately.
Correct...
I think Dennis was wrong, but to accuse him of bigotry is just plain STUPID.
