Post 19, LOL!!!
She's nothing more than a slut who was useful to Murdoch as long as she made money for him. When the publicity got too hot to handle she was gone.
No doubt there will be a place for her in publishing.
No publisher will touch the book.
Don't discount Regnery. And I'm sure their editors aren't sleeping with the authors.
This one is a dirty squirrel in a dirty business.
I don't discount Regnery, but they are not in the main stream. They're the outsiders everyone else in the business likes to kick, much like Fox News. It would be good if the big publishers could also be persuaded to dip their toes in the water. Not much chance they would hire a serious conservative and give it a shot. I think it will take a nutcase like Regan to break the ice and prove that conservative books can boost their sales.
Authors usually don' t pay back any of an advance, though -- they also don't get any royalty cheques until the advance has been made back, as far as I understand.
Yea, In some learedship role in the Dumb-O-Crat party as appointed by their leader in Washington, Plastic Face.
Off with her head!!

James McGreevey
Watch [RealPlayer]Description: James McGreevey was governor of New Jersey from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, after a former lover threatened to "out" him, Gov. McGreevey publicly announced that he is gay and announced that he would resign from office [ed note: in utter disgrace]...During this event from the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Andrew Sullivan, author of "The Conservative Soul," interviews Mr. McGreevey about being gay in political life.
Nan Talese at Doubleday. Flew back to her NY office after Oprah and her publishing house gave her a standing ovation. Sickening.
As I pointed out in another thread, the OJ thing ended up costing the company $3.5 million on an advance and heaven only knows what in the publicity campaign that generated the backlash.
I am waiting for other shoe to drop.
I think the Browns and the Goldmans have a serious case against the publisher for the handling of the advance that got it's way to OJ.
There cannot be a person over the age of 10 in this country that is unaware of the court actions the Browns and the Goldmans won against any earnings of OJ.
The publishing company is guilty of laundering money to get it to OJ, IMO.
I sincerely hope there is a big lawsuit against the Publisher and that the families win BIG bucks over the whole deal.
Then I hope the publisher gets it's $$$ back from OJ.
IN a couple weeks I expect we will get a release from Regan's publicist explaining that she has been diagnosed as suffering from a "chemical imbalance in the brain" and is responding very well to treatment at a private recovery center.
It'll be tough. OJ says he gave the whole thing to the IRS. Had the book been published I don't think he'd have seen a dime of it, though.
Kerik, the security guy??
A book on Mantle; the man before he died mea culpa'ed to all so many times in print and verbally for his failings. Let him be; what more is there; is any member of his family involved in this??
ABC paid $1 million for the exclusive on the book....non refundable.
of course, ABC didnt detail their own involvement when the whole thing blew up.
The wife was left in the dark (perhaps).
Isn't it quite curious lately that every time a conservative has a "problem", that the first thing they do is launch into some anti-semetic rant? It seems that the media wants to paint all conservative as closet anti-semetics.
