The Real Purpose Behind The Imam Publicity Blitz
StarTribune ^ | 12/13/06 | Katherine Kersten

On Dec. 1, a curious report on the grounded-imams incident at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport appeared on the website of the Iranian Quran News Agency. The report quoted extensively from Madhi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation. The foundation is the American arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, "the world's most influential Islamic fundamentalist group," according to the Chicago Tribune. Bray's initial statement about the incident had an all-American, see-you-in-court ring. He demanded "large financial compensation for the imams," adding, "We want US Airways and any other airline displaying this type of behavior against Muslims to be hit where it hurts, the pocketbook."

The report echoed statements made by the imams themselves. Omar Shahin, their spokesman, has portrayed the incident in a way that's consistent with a lawsuit and a public relations offensive. He's called for a Jesse Jackson-style boycott of US Airways, and applied classic civil-rights rhetoric to the incident: "This is prejudice; this is obvious discrimination," the Star Tribune quoted him as saying. "I cannot change the color of my skin," he told Newsweek.

I think these men should be charged with an act of terrorism.

They were probing our defenses and trying to get the airlines into weakening our defenses.

"I cannot change the color of my skin," he told Newsweek.

It wasn't your skin that got you in trouble. It was your actions.

"This is prejudice; this is obvious discrimination," the Star Tribune quoted him as saying.

No - THIS IS DISCRIMINATION:

Saudi Arabia - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bibles are illegal. Churches are illegal.

Yemen - Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims and forbids conversions. The Government does not allow the building of new non-Muslim places of worship.

Kuwait - Registration and licensing of religious groups. Members of religions not sanctioned in the Koran may not build places of worship. Prohibits organized religious education for religions other than Islam.

Egypt - Islam is the official state religion and primary source of legislation. Accordingly, religious practices that conflict with Islamic law are prohibited. Muslims may face legal problems if they convert to another faith. Requires non-Muslims to obtain what is now a presidential decree to build a place of worship.

Algeria - The law prohibits public assembly for purposes of practicing a faith other than Islam. Non-Islamic proselytizing is illegal, and the Government restricts the importation of non-Islamic literature for distribution.

Jordan - Has the death penalty for any Muslim selling land to a Jew.

Sudan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death.

Pakistan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims. Christians regularly put in prison for charges of blasphemy. Islam is the state religion, and in a court of law the testimony of a Christian carries less weight than that of a Muslim. Section 295(c) of the Penal Code calls for a death sentence for anyone who defiles the name of the Prophet Muhammad and requires the testimony of four Muslims for a conviction. This fosters an environment in which Muslims can feel free to use intimidation and violence against religious minorities for personal gain.

Qatar - Islamic instruction is compulsory in public schools. The government regulates the publication, importation, and distribution of non-Islamic religious literature. The government continues to prohibit proselytizing of Muslims by non-Muslims.

Malaysia - Under Malaysian law, any convert to Christianity must apply to a shariah (Muslim law) court to legally renounce Islam. Many Christians prefer to remain silent converts rather than take their battle to the shariah courts, where apostasy or conversion out of Islam is punishable by whipping, fines, imprisonment and--in the most extreme application--death.

The Maldives - In the island paradise visited by tens of thousands of tourists each year, Christianity is simply not tolerated. While local Christians – said to number around 300 out of a total population of 300,000 – do get together to worship, they do so at the risk of imprisonment or worse if discovered by the Muslim authorities. Bibles are banned, and tourists can be arrested for trying to bring them into the country.

This is sort of like the Westboro Baptist Church nutcases. They do their protests at funerals in order to goad people into doing something that they can be sued for.....

If CAIR calls for a boycott of US Airways, you can believe that will be the airline that I will use.

One of the act's central features is its definition of illegal profiling. Under it, if airport security personnel question passengers who are disproportionately Muslim or of Middle Eastern descent, this alone would constitute a presumptive violation of the law. Law enforcement agencies would bear the burden of proving that discrimination was not the cause.

What would the effect of such a law be?

"A law that would compel security professionals to focus on keeping their statistics within certain norms rather than on their mission keeping airline travel safe would have a devastating effect on our ability to ensure airline safety," said Daniel Horan of the Los Angeles Police Department in an interview. He worked at the Los Angeles airport on profiling-related issues for 6 years.

In my fantasies, the idiots that push for "norms in statistics" are talking to their doctor, and he tells them, "You're probably going to die because, while this one company has a drug that will cure you, I have been using that company's products way too much lately and the rules say I need to start using this other company's drugs to ensure I play fair. The problem is, this other company doesn't make anything that will help you, so the drug I prescribe is just as likely to kill you faster. But, surely you understand, rules is rules. Have a great day."

A lawsuit....well now...imagine that.

I say we should let 'em buy themselves a '73 Impala and drive wherever they want to be.

Let's all hope the US Air doesn't get a weak spine and cave in on this one. If they do, none of our airlines will ever be safe again.

I'm sure the imams would take great satisfaction in the sweet irony of reaping huge financial gain from the airline and then send the $$$$ to muslim terrorist front groups, but I have believed from the first day this story broke that it is part of a pre-planned campaign to weaken security measures at U.S. airports. I believe it even more now, given the current campaign by CAIR to generate multitudes of complaints from muslims traveling to mecca during this busy flying season.
