Myths and Lies of Illegal Immigration
Citizens Against Illegal Immigration ^ | Jan.'04 | Kathy McKee

Illegal aliens absolutely do NOT contribute more than they cost. Certainly the millions in prison or on welfare aren't contributing a dime to our economy, and the ones who are working are often paid in cash with no deductions for taxes at all. The ones who use fraudulent social security numbers and qualify to pay taxes have so many deductions for dependents that they pay little if any taxes. We have seen them pay less than $100 in taxes and get back $4000 refunds - thanks to earned income tax credits and multiple dependents. Some bargain, eh?

A whole array of business interests who love the cheap labor and politicians who pander to the Hispanic vote are in full time spin mode to deceive citizens. The MSM (with exceptions like Lou Dobbs) and even some neocon publications (Weekly Standard with Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol - both lovers of the illegal tsunami!) are part of the pack. Of course, all the financial and cultural disaster aside, they don't give a damn about secure borders in this age of international terrorism either. Some patriots!

A bit over the top. Many who are prepared to accept some legalization or guest worker program are very much for secure borders. The two are not mutually exclusive as many here want to believe. Nor do I question the patriotism of those who look to a comprehensive immigration reform bill which includes a secure border and a strong enforcement program. Too many here question anyone's patriotism who isn't in lock step with the extreme right.

"So, before you believe the prevalent pack of lies perpetuated by the illegal alien lobby, which makes billions off this government-sanctioned criminal activity, ask yourself who's saying this garbage and look at what they have to gain. Citizens Against Illegal Immigration, just like Protect Arizona NOW, is an all-volunteer, totally grass-roots organization of citizens who are making nothing and have nothing personal to gain from their efforts to fight this corruption. Whose side are you on, and what are YOU doing to save your state and country from this evil?"

Excellent article!

I have bombarded my state and federal representatives with letters on this subject. I think, at this point, that they are far more interested in potential voters. It is very discouraging. The thing that irks me the most is the media...when reporting they conveniently leave out the word "illegal" and focus on the word immigrant. That is manipulation at it's finest. I have nothing against immigrants..we were all immigrants at one time. But to flagrantly ignore the law and be encouraged by some businesses, the media and our government is absurd. I hazard to guess there are many downtrodden people who would love to come here...legally.

I will now return my soap box to the closet, lol.

It's simple; we cannot afford them.

The problem is that the so-called "comprehensive" immigration plan is a euphemism for amnesty. I suppose you think Tom Tancredo and his colleagues that insist on securing the border FIRST are extremists. At least you didn't refer to us as xenephobes or racists - which is another name-calling tactic employed by the open borders lobby. By the way, it's been documented that Middle Easterners have crossed the border who have not been apprehended. It shouldn't be a matter of partisan politics and special interests but simply upholding the Constitution.

Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION.

A path to citizenship can only be considered AFTER the borders are controlled - and the "comprehensive" Senate plan will not do that.

I've also been hearing that the "comprehensivists" are now looking for ways to defund the 700 mile fence. I'm not surprised because they've never been serious about securing the border.

Yeah, there's quite a few we can't afford...the criminals, the welfare crowd. Or are you lumping all 20 million together?

Absolutely! It's a great American tradition that when the feds don't do their job -- we have the right and obligation to defends ourselves and our communities on our own by ANY legal means! By the way, I think the name chosen by Simcox and his grass-roots organization tells the whole story of this great American spirit -- MINUTEMAN!!

You're right about the Weekly Standard. It's little better than MSM and Fred Barnes is, at best, a talking head.

It's gotten to the point where Mort Kondrake is starting to make more sense than Barnes.

I pulled the voting records before the election. Although there was a positive vote for the border wall..the voting record for funding was decidedly a "nay". It appears to me, on the surface, the "yeah, we'll secure the border gang" voted for a measure that would make people think they were doing something..without doing something. Clever approach prior to an election.

Sort of like..of course, kids..we are going to Disneyland..as soon as we get the money.

Right! They export their poor and the poor send billions back to Mexico. While they're here working as slave labor they depress wages for ALL Amnericans. There is NO job Americans have refused do for a living wage and some basic benefits!

Exactly - it's just another political scam. They pretend to be doing something but intend to do nothing. That's becsuse they think the public is stupid and can't see thru their games. But those days are gone and voters have long memories!

Fred Barnes acts as if he is a paid lobbyist for the OBL, and if his 1040 Form were available to us we would probably find out that he was.

Im not saying this is your position so dont take offense but I do laugh when I hear people support CIR and claim to also support a secure border and strong enforcement. They always make a point of the border security part. "Robust" was the word one poster chose. lol The reason I laugh is because so many of them Ive come across support a guest worker program sooo generous (for mexico only and maybe the rest of latin america to a lesser degree) that no Mexican would ever need to jump the border illegally! That of course makes border security a breeze and enforcement virtually unnecessary.

Ive reached the same conclusion! Once on the Beltway Boys Fred Barnes made his usual snide and condescending remarks about those who wanted to secure the border. I sent him an e-mail telling him if he got out of his damn beltway and saw what the great majority of Americans were doing and thinking about the illegal tsunami that he might learn more than his predictable talking points. I never got a reply!

Right - I have a friend who works for FL Division of Motor Vehicles and he tells me that between the Haitians and the illegals he's afraid to venture beyond his community!
