The $4 generic drug plan at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has arrived in California with dozens of drugs priced at $9.
The world's largest retailer said Friday that 55 different drugs will be sold for $9 in California and eight other states to conform with "loss leader" statutes.

"Now go pay more than you would have normally. You can thank us later."
It is still a bargain. My husband's Lisinopril is $29 at Walgreen's.
Wisconsin has these anti-predatory pricing laws. They also affect gasoline, preventing discounting on the grounds that it can drive marginal retailers out of business. There is now going to be a push here to get that law removed.
I take lisinopril, and it was nice to pay only $12 for a 90 day supply this week, whereas through my prescription plan it was $34. That's a savings of $88 per year.
I agree. It's still a bargain IN SPITE of the government forcing the price to be 125% higher than it would have been.
My local, non-chain pharmacy, just instituted a list of common drugs including Lisinopril @ $15 for 100 pills.
(As a newbie to taking Lisinopril, any side effects I should watch out for?)
The pill is very small, and when filling your pill holder it could hide under other pills in the box. That might cause you to add in an extra lisinopril. Tom
"Lisinopril can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.
Vomiting, diarrhea, or heavy sweating can cause you to become dehydrated. This can lead to very low blood pressure, electrolyte disorders, or kidney failure while you are taking lisinopril. Drink 6 to 8 full glasses of water daily while you are taking this medication."

I also take lisinopril. On my insurance plan it is $20 for a 90 day supply on a mail in basis. This from Walmart was a blessing to many. Now, state governments that bash Walmart are making them charge more. They are all jokes! Don't you just love them?
Thanks. I had looked at the literature, but it made my eyes glaze over.
Thanks. So far so good. It is pretty darn small for sure!
As a side note. Lisinopril is the generic substitute for Zestril. I and my buddy both experienced considerable itching with Zestril, but none with lisinopril.
Anyone know if you can buy the prescription via mail, and therefore pay the $4 price?
The info I saw indicated the program was exclusively for in-store purchases.
