Ahmadinejad to Haniyeh: Israel close to disappearing
JPost.com Staff, THE JERUSALEM POST Dec. 2, 2006
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh held talks in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
The Islamic Republic News Agency reported Saturday Ahmadinejad saying, "As everybody knows, the Zionist regime was created to establish dominion of arrogant states over the region and to enable the enemy to penetrate the heart Muslim land."
Saying the Israeli regime was inherently a "threat," and was "on the verge of disappearing" Haniyeh praised the support of the Iranian government and nation for the cause of the Palestinian nation, saying, "The Iranian nation's brilliant stand in the rightful battles of the Palestinians encourages them and signifies their deep understanding of Islamic principles," reported Iran's official state-run news agency.
"The Intifada (uprising) of the Palestinian nation will continue until the cause of the Palestinians is materialized and Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) is liberated," added Haniyeh.
Ahmadinejad went on to say that, "Today scores of Western politicians are in doubt as to the future of this illegitimate regime and its existence has come under question.
"There is no doubt the Palestinian nation and Muslims as a whole will emerge victorious," the Iranian president told Haniyeh.
"The continued commission of crimes by the Zionist regime will speed up the collapse of this fictitious regime," said Ahmadinejad.
Before Israel disappears, I wonder if they will make Iran disappear first?
Nancee
The battle for Jerusalem will be quite spectacular.
NOP surprise , Bush looses the congress, most of those libs in congress blame the US and Israel for everything. Wait it is going to get worse. here it comes they will really carry on now.
Saying Israel will disappear and making it happen are two very differnt things !!!
The "Samson Option."
He says this all the time. It is absurd how people think we can make deals with this guy. However, they quite frankly pretend like he has never said it. So bizarre!
Only for the folks that can watch it on tv...
It's an old trick by David Copperfield. First Israel disappears in a puff of smoke. A couple minutes later as the Iranians are cheering, it reappears in two places -- where it originally was, and with a loud bang over what is presently Iran.
It occurs tome that Iran almost wants Israel to strike at their nuke facilities by all this taunting. I doubt Iran has the ability to deliver a nuke to Israel at this time.
maybe they think if Israel attacks this would galvanize a pan arab response against Israel that the Iranians really want.
BUMP!!!
Not only that, but as recently as 2002 there was quite a bit of talk of revolution in Iran. There WAS a large political youth movement that has all but disappeared since the escalating war of words with the U.S. and Israel. Iran is a very patriotic country and their president has done a good job of uniting a country that only 4 or 5 years ago was on the verge of revolt. I believe much of what he is saying and doing is more for domestic consumption than international.
As opposed to the Mesada option, I would probably say yes. If they go down, I think they will take a whole lot of their enemies too. A worst case scenario for sure, but I believe Mesada is in the past and will stay there.
