PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico - U.S. and Mexican authorities are searching for three Americans and two Mexicans kidnapped by dozens of armed men who swarmed a Mexican hunting ranch near the U.S. border.
Witnesses told police that 30 to 40 armed men entered the La Barranca ranch late Sunday and took the five men. The ranch, used for deer hunting, is located near the Mexican town of Hidalgo, about 40 miles northwest of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
Erik Vasys, an FBI spokesman in San Antonio, Texas, late Tuesday identified the Americans as Librado Pina Jr., 49, who owned the ranch, and his son Librado Pina III, 25, both of Laredo, Texas; and David Mueller, 45, of the Sweetwater, Texas, area.
Two ranch employees who weren't kidnapped said the attackers handcuffed the elder Pina and kept him apart from the other victims, Vasquez Estrada said. The assailants stole five all-terrain vehicles, two pickup trucks, furnishings, appliances and even food and wine from the ranch.
The kidnappers also seized the ranch's cook and another Mexican man at the ranch for a hunting trip.
Mueller was also hunting at the ranch, officials said.
The kidnappers do not appear to have made any ransom demand, Vasquez Estrada said.
Vasys wouldn't release details about the investigation, but characterized it as "ongoing, intense."
"We're working very closely with our Mexican counterparts," he said. "We're doing everything we can to get them back safely."

Just a little early Christmas shopping south of the border style. Hope these Americans come back with their lives. I know i'll not be returning to Mexico anytime soon.

When a nation won't protect its borders, grants privileges, welfare and "rights" to illegal immigrants, won't use military force to the extent necessary to destroy the enemy and elects to Congress the least competent among us --- a nation should EXPECT to be maligned, ridiculed, insulted and attacked.
The cynic in me says we've seen the passing of a great nation into an emasculated and P.C. guided suicide case.

Not likely it was MS13. This was something wholly different.

Same here. Hubby and I used to go nearly every year, for years. We've not been since it turned into the lawless, drug cartel infested cesspool that it is now. We were talking about it recently and agreed that we wouldn't ever be going again.
This spring our whole extended family is going on a cruise. We went to great pains to avoid the "Mexican Caribbean".
