Don't be fooled by Newsweek's exhortation to social conservatives to surrender in the culture war. The Left is going to continue its relentless push to drive God out of public life, undermine the family, promote secularism in the place of traditional values and deconstruct America out of existence. For those who care about the Judeo-Christian ethic, there is too much at stake to ever bring the troops home.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

Like - who reads "Newsweek" anymore? Even die-hard liberals I know don't even read it. An who, in the age of the internet, wants to read news that is 1 week old?

LOL--nice.

I'm not sure why the heading has "Don Feder" alert. Seems to me that Don has nailed Newsweek's condescending, "secular journalist from another planet" article pretty accurately.

I'm confused. Does the radical religious right control the GOP? Or does the GOP control the radical religious rihgt? Now, if they were the same people, would that be self-control?

we've just been handed the greatest box of ammunition to fire at leftist thugs that one could ever hope for. Time to make some noise. ( I think WSJ opinion articles are available the following day at the link, without subscriber registry; Brooks' book is finally out and WSJ ran piece by him todaythat is positively devastating to the character and motivations of the left-- to put it succinctly,
Democrats truly are the PARTY OF ENVY): http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1744484/posts?page=1

'One of these young Turks, Adam Hamilton, tells the members of his Leawood, Kansas church, "Our task is not to go around judging people - Jesus didn't do that." Apparently, Pastor Hamilton missed incident with the woman accused of adultery, described in the Gospel of John.'

Also, Jesus exposing the Pharisees for the hypocrites that they were.

'Newsweek doesn't understand that it's not a choice of caring for the needy or fighting to save marriage and stop the slaughter in the womb. All are integral aspects of the same ethic.'

Exactly!

I'd say what the article discusses is almost certainly the strategy for Newsweek (And the Left as a whole). They know that most of what their agenda promotes are things that evangelicals oppose. So, if they can't silence the opposition, they'll have to rely on Plan B.: Try and trick them into shifting their focus elsewhere.

The left is on a mission against God. It correctly perceives Christianity (more broadly, the Judeo-Christian ethic) as the principal obstacle to the attainment of its utopian vision. Thus, it is determined to stigmatize, marginalize and ghettoize Christians - to increasingly circumscribe their influence and to confine their values to a designated building on a chosen day of the week.

If the Let could get away with censoring us, or bannin us completely, they would do it. They hate the fact that we still the right to free speech and to vote. They will do all they can to marginalize us and our power.

Christianity never needs to be hyphenated.
