As the first disagreement (as of writing) among many I'm sure, I would say that Eisenhower should be higher on the list than 28.
Dwight was responsible the the Interstate Highway program which has had as large an effect on daily lives as almost anyone else on the list (some exceptions of course).
He was also responsible for "Atoms For Peace". While he had admirable intentions, this program no doubt led to nuclear proliferation.
I heard recently a little more about Eisenhower....that lowered him on MY list......supposedly he found Roosevelt's daughter VERY nice....and she put a good word in for him to Daddy.....and his career went up from there.....
And "Operation Wetback" in 1954. That was before all this PC nonsense.
Ike did two other things that should pull him up. He made it OK in the South to vote for a Republican. Millions followed him to war, so they could vote for him. Also look up Project Corona.
