On Tuesday, Giant Eagle, Inc. announced their plan for a discounted generic prescription drug program in all of its Pennsylvania supermarket pharmacies.

The offering, which will reduce the prices of more than 300 generic prescription medications, went into effect immediately.

Giant Eagle's announcement came just one day after Target announced that it would expand its $4 generic prescription drug program.

Bush's fault.

He intituted the Medicare RX program and all kinds of price reductions resulted.

Now we have the DUmmies promising to 'fix' the program.

The generic replacement for 30 mg of imdur was $42/month now is $4/month. Competition is wonderful {and they are still making money}.

So who's eating the cost, or are they just overpriced to begin with?

The cost is almost nil, the profits were very high and now {thanks to Wal Mart's $4 plan} other retailers have to compete with less profit. No one is selling drugs at a loss, just a reduced profit.
