A Muslim organisation said yesterday that one of its founders had made a "grave mistake" when he sent money and letters of support to the historian David Irving, jailed this year in Austria for Holocaust denial.
Asghar Bukhari, a former chief executive of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC), which describes itself as a civil liberties group, admitted sending a donation to help Irving fight a libel case in 2000.
Mr Bukhari said he now realised that Irving held "despicable" views. He made the £60 donation on the basis of a "limited" number of articles he had seen because he believed then that Irving was a respectable historian standing up to Israel.
Irving was jailed for three years for denying the Holocaust. He pleaded guilty and told the court in Vienna: "I made a mistake when I said there were no gas chambers at Auschwitz."
That will happen when Stormfront is your IE homepage.
Bukhari is lying. The only thing he really regrets is getting found out.
The thing is, Arabs can call Jews dogs and pigs and blow them up as much as they please, and liberals will turn a blind eye to this behavior because it is multiculurally correct for them to do so. They don't know any better, and one culture's opinions are as good as another's.
But send money to a Holocaust denier? That's AWFUL. That can't be ignored, because this guy is an official Nazi of the worst kind.
Very strange. I'm not excusing Holcaust denial, but Hitler is safely dead. It's the Muslims we need to worry about right now. But leftists find them convenient in helping to tear down western society.
I think Holocaust denial should be something that gets an "academic" fired. I don't think he should be in jail for being an idiot. I hate speech laws like that. The Euros are far behind us when it comes to freedom of speech.
Agreed, the guy is a crock but the worst crime mentioned here is Irving's sentence, not the donation to him
BTW: Like they say though, if I see him on the street...
Seriously, we need a "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Raindeer" parody about Muslim suicide bombers!
I don't know which I find more scary. A Holocaust denier, or the fact that you can get jailed for expressing an opinion.
Bump.
