I was listening to the Mark Levine show tonight and Levine mentioned what I already knew about Guiliani being liberal on social issues. While I'm certainly grateful for everything he did after 9/11 and the time he spent to campaign with Republican canidates across the country in this past election, I couldnt vote for him. Right now Mitt Romney is my first choice out of the Republicans running in the 2008 primary. There are some who think Romney isn't conservative enough but compared to Guiliani and McCain I think he is our best option. Guiliani's positions on abortion and homosexuality will prevent him from gaining a strong following in the south, much of the midwest and Great Plains region. I think that Romney would have a better chance of carrying most or all of the current red states. However some people think that some Southern Baptists may have a problem with him being a Mormon. I hope that his religion does not become an obstacle to his success in the primaries. I read an interesting article recently in the Wall Street Journal where it said that some Mormons believe that Romney may be the one to fullfill the "white horse" prophecy by the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith. In the 1840s, Smith predicted that in the distant future all of America would be in turmoil and would be rescued by a Mormon. I hope that by 2008 Romney's popularity will exceed that of Guiliani and McCain.

Because I'm starting to enjoy pissing off the ignorant conservo-utopian circle-jerkers.

OBTW, I'm anti-abortion, pro-tax cuts, pro-complete fence, anti-gay marriage, pro-2nd amendment, pro-spending cuts, pro-gov't reform at all levels, pro-entitlement reform, anti-civil servant featherbedding and pension-bloating, pro-military, pro-Iraq victory, pro-states' rights, pro-strict constructionist court appointments, anti-corruption, anti-free speech restrictions, anti-McCain and his sour band of backstabbers, and anti-media. Some RINO, eh? But I also understand (like Reagan did) that politics involves compromises, timing, incrementalism, and making the best choice when all options are imperfect. The conservative issues that Rudy believes in and has implemented far outweight the issues that he is liberal on, especially considering the issues that a President deals with and those he almost certainly will not.

Oh yeah, I left out that I am anti-trite slogans, anti-simpletons, and anti-spammers.

***It's not being fought to win. It's being fought to an "acceptable level of violence" (if I remember what the current CO said correctly).

Why is Sadr still alive? You don't invite the enemy to be part of the "political process".... You kill them.***

We have a winner! This is precisely why support for the Iraq War has dwindled. Has nothing to do with WMD and everything to do with Americans not wanting to see our troops involved in politically correct warfare.

If you told the average American all about Sadr and asked them what they would do about him if they were CIC, I think they'd want him Dead or Alive.

Only 20% of this country is rabid anti-war.

You used it as MALICIOUS PROPAGANDA!

Wrong again, dolt. Take your meds, you're paranoid.

The context matters....or do you think that slander is peachy keen?

How am I slandering him when I'm merely pointing out, by use of that photo, that he's a RINO? All of his liberal ways have already been pointed out so I'm not going to repeat them. If he's your man, then fine.
Myself? I'd rather vote for one of the penguins I'm watching trek across 40 miles of
the Antarctic snow and ice to feed their young than vote for that guy. A penguin wouldn't abandon his/her *family* just to be P.C. A penguin is a penguin. Guiliani is a penguin that has no problem dressing up as an albatross.

***We need a federal law that bans all assault weapons, and if in fact you do need a handgun you should be subjected to at least the same restrictions -- and really stronger ones -- that exist for driving an automobile.

Ouch!

That shoots him in the foot for claiming he's a Federalist style Republican. >_<

Rudy has a record on that one. An open-borders record.

True. However he has not mentioned what he would do about it as president. I don't put much stock into some of his more liberal proclamations as that is just the noise a Mayor of New York has to make to get and stay elected.

First of all, it would be almost impossible for the MSM to make something about those pictures, NOW, since not only were they in newspapers when the shows took place, but also on T.V. AND on SNL! Besides which, there is other stuff that a liberal paper and candidates would go after.

But the "first impressions" angle is exactly WHY the most rancidly rabid anti-Rudy FREEPERS have pushed those pictures for the past year.

No, I am NOT jumping out of my skin to support Rudy. I would LOVE to see Haley Barbour throw his hat in the ring; however, he has said that he isn't going to do so.

The reason that I jump all over the people who smear Rudy, here, is because they do so with LIES! Most know almost nothing about him, but that doesn't keep them from posting specious garbage about him.

Not only the pictures, but complete tripe about his marriages and divorces, what he did as mayor, and what kind of a person he is. These lies are worse than what any Dem, including Hillary ( and she's vicious! ) would do to him, should he and shes run against each other.

I have been saying for quite some time, that it is probable that somone who has NEVER been talked about, will emerge are the GOP standard bearer in '08, just as President Bush did.

Representatives and Senators almost NEVER become president! The last one who was able to pull that off was JFK and he did it illegally. I challenge everyone to name another....without looking it up!

Winning presidential candidates are most usually drawn from the ranks of Governors, Vice Presidents, and sometimes generals.

If Rudy had run for the Senate and defeated hillary, he would have killed her presidental hopes forever, and positioned himself as the runaway favorite. We would also still HAVE the SENATE! BUT he didn't do that.

As governor, he could have proven he could win higher office and again use as springboard for higher office and put New York in play. BUT he didn't do that either.

7 years out of politics is a long time.

I had wished he would knock Hillary out of the Senate this year, but President Rudy? I don't know about that one.

President Rudy is a LOT more palatable to me than President Hillary! The latter would be unbearable. I would consider moving to Australia for the duration of any Hillary! occupancy of the WH.

First off, Romney is not a Rhino. Secondly, Rudy was hated by the liberals in NY as he cracked down on crime etc... Rudy in not a liberal. You don't have to be a sanctomonius jerk off to be a Republican ya know. Go sit out or vote for hillary that will be good.

Give Rudy a break, he doesn't go out of his way to stick his finger in the eyes of conservatives and insult them the way McCain seems to do. Lets be honest Rudy could give McCain and others some real competition in the NE and Rustbelt areas

I have to agree with you & it wasn't so long ago that everyone here was saying "absolutely NO to McCain"!!!! I honestly can't vote for McCain, he seems like a loose cannon most times!

Sounds like a dream-team to me.

Barbour has long been my number one choice for a GOP nominee. He's got it all... including a better figure than Hillary's...

Your projection complex is more than a bit out of control and an anger management class or 50, would do you a world of help.

No, dear, posting that or any other pictures from shows, don't do a a thing, to advance the spurious claim of RINOISM.

Why don't you post the ones of Giulliani in the motorcycle skit? Not faggy enough for you? Are you a closet homosexual? You do seem to be overly obsessed by that topic.

Rudy's first divorce was NOT a nasty one and he had NO children with that wife. The divorce was on the grounds of consanguinity, which was NOT known, when the marriage was entered into.

His VERY unhappy second marriage was mostly the fault of his disgustingly horrid shrew of wife. He didn't "desert" his children with her. As a matter of fact, remarkably, he has a VERY good relationship with his son and daughter.

Did you vote for Ronald Reagan, that paragon or morality? He left his first wife and daughter and adopted son and knocked up his girlfriend before he made her his second wife, you know. And don't even get me started on Newt! LOL

Yup, Romney isn't very conservative. And as a Mormon, his negatives will be extremely high through the intermountain West amongst non-Mormons. We would end up losing what should be "safe" states -- and that would mean handing the election to the Dems.

Romney wouldn't even be able to carry his own state of MA.

What do you think we owe Iraq? It's only one front in the global war with Islam. There are others. There will be more.

Oct. 20, 2006 is your sign up date. Guess I should welcome you, but I don't really want to. LOL

Your last comment says much about you. I doubt you accidentally forgot to put the word, "extremist", behind the word, "Islam". If you are an Islamic-phobic, you should be applauding our efforts to bring democracy to Iraq.

Try for a minute to forget anything about owing the Iraqi people anything. Do you really want to support terrorists? Do you want them to win in Iraq? If they take over Iraq, do you understand the consequences?

Why don`t we try to win for a change? Both Rudy and Mitt will be a better commander-in-chief than Hillorat and they are the only two that can WIN.
