Iraqi terrorists 'are being supplied with arms smuggled from Iran'

Iran is sustaining the insurgency against British and American forces in Iraq by supplying terrorists with weapons and cash, senior military figures have claimed.

Members of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards on a ‘rural patrol’ in Teeb Valley, Maysan Province British forces are enduring daily bombardments of mortar bombs and rockets at their bases in Basra. The weapons are believed to be sponsored, funded and smuggled from Iran whose border is just over 10 miles from the southern Iraq capital.

Military sources have disclosed that there is "very, very strong intelligence" that elements inside Iran have continued to fund and support the gun-running. There is still no "concrete evidence", in part, it is claimed, because Iranian weapons are designed to be untraceable.

Well, problem identified. Do something about it. You're about to have "fresh eyes" to look things over. Give the order.

I think this is about the 10,000th time we've heard this since the war began....Nothing will be done about it. How about if we begin funding terrorist to start blowing stuff up in Iran so that it is untraceable to us?? One of these days, we will begin fighting their type of battle...

Uh yeah... we've been saying that for over a year now.

Just that the rest of the world 'yawned' at it...

Thats a good idea.. mabye I'll start a blogspot page just for that.

We'll organize 'asymetric' attacks on Iran and our other enemies. We'll deny any connection with any gov't and we won't be held to any stupid treaties or rules of engagment.

Balls to the wall and all that, even if the website is fantasy, hopefully it will inspire some 'nutbags' from our side to go AWAL and go apeshit on the bad guys for a change.

Whadda' think of that?

One of these days won't come under Nancy or Dingy Harry. They are prepared to significantly damage the USA.

I am shocked....you mean Iran is helping to undermine our efforts? And here I thought they were keeping hands off while we pacified Iraq. I wonder what price they will pay for that? Oh I know, nothing. I answered my own question.

Right because it worked so well for the OAS.

It doesn't work. It isn't the tactic that is effective, it is the politics that it expoits. Terrorism as mere retaliatory violence without its political basis just backfires. People who have no real idea how and why it works see only the pointless atrocity in the matter and think they can do that too. It gets them nothing. Iranian nutjob rulers would like nothing better than lots of Iranians scared into supporting them out of fear of foreign terrorists. You can be sure they will not hold a free election against a domestic Iranian fifth column committed to "peace now".

Jim Baker will gracefully withdrawal, after which the Iranians and their proxies will less gracefully cut the balls off all the enemies they like and feed them roasted to their former owner's cousins.

A new strategy:

Militarize the borders with Iran and Syria. Move American troops into these controlled zones and out of the populated sections of Iraq where the Iraqi security forces will assume the role eliminating/controlling the insurgents.

Make the insurgency wither without its outside support and cut down on the American casualties.

This is all assuming the Dems dont pull the ole 'Cut-n-Run' tactic of losing a war......

Not only is Iran supplying the terrorists with weapons, but they are also supplying the thug, murdering terrorists too, imho.

The lying media never told the truth about Iraq and now the rats are in control. I hope the Kurds won't pay a price for a possible Rat cut and run.

Yeah, Duhhh.

A British reporter gets himself embedded with the troops and suddenly discovers that the insurgents in Iraq are being supported and supplied by the Iranians. Do you think he'll ever come to the conclusion that if we stop keeping the Jihadists on the defensive in the Middle East, they'll be able to focus on more offensive operations in Europe and America?

Nah.

"weapons and cash"

Bomb weapons factories and banks where these originate from,

then there will be no doubt,

we are serious about winning.
