Good article. In fact I was just going to post it. I am right now about ready to committ to the Mike Huckabee Campaign for 08. However, I have no allusions about that struggle even thought I think he has got a shot.

The combo there is appealing in a way. I am about convinced after the last two elections that Penn is a lost cause. I am also very realistic about Ohio. All the Dems have to do is basically flip Ohio and win.

Therefore we must make up the votes somewhere else. Minnesota has been trending Repub and if can dsleover Wisconsisn awesome. Also McCain in the West does help and God knows we ahve got to keep that red or we can gor get it and just prepeare for 4 years of Hillary Clinton and the First Husband Bill. It is a intriguing possibility for victory

Aw h3ll, if the GOP is gonna offer McCain up for the 2008 election, why don't they just make the party collapse complete and offer McCain/Chaffee as the ticket?.../s

The GOP needs ANYONE BUT McLame. Pawlenty would be OK for the second spot, however don't think for a minute that Minnesota will go red just because he's on the ticket.

How about Barbour/Pawlenty? Two strong chief executies would make an attractive ticket.

"I think these people who want to continuously push the GOP to the left should just become democrats and get it over with. "

Be careful what you wish for.

Schumer is quite happy to have a Democrat permanent majority in Congress "for a generation".

Be very afraid!

That is the biggest draw back of McCain I feel as to the general electorate. That is his age and if the voters are going to be in the mood for what you alluded too.

Of course if the nominee is Hillary that might cancel out. But if the Dems nominate a Richardson or Bayh. Well that is a factor

If they thought Republican turnout was bad this time, try it with McCain in 2008.

Someone asked Ann Coulter a few weeks ago if there was any scenario where she would vote Democrat. She laughed and said, "If Zell Miller was running against McCain".

Even with Hillary on the other side?

Even with. I won't vote to put a paranoid schizo socialist RINO gun hater in office. I had to hold my nose to vote for Bush as I thought he was "too moderate". McCain is a lunatic that shouldn't be within a 100 miles of the Big Red Button.

My governor, Haley Barbour, is the best of ALL governors, but he is not interesting in running. And his wife said that too.
