I've voted for Bush twice, even had my picture taken with him ... however, reality is what it is and Bush is by every measure a lame duck president for the remainder of his Presidency. He knows it ...

What he thinks he knows is that his OBL agenda for shamnesty will now have an easier time passing with a Dim congress. Clearly he had no qualms about dividing the party and risking a loss in majority by siding with the libs on this issue. Open borders and amnesty won out over winning the WOT.
"FoxNews reporting from the White House: White House spokesman Tony Snow reacted to the change in House control by allowing they're disappointed, but that it presents some intriguing opportunities, such as passing comprehensive immigration reform which failed in the previous Republican House."
I totally agree.
A lame duck, with a veto pen. But the Dems will make mischief with investigations, etc.
Their TACTICS to win were correct. Say nothing; be anti-Bush. Now, let us see how they lead. I believe their STRATEGY (they have none) will play poorly with the voters from now until 2008.
The economy can only get worse from where it is now. If they succeed, over the next two years, in convincing the voters a weaker economy is Bush's fault, we are in real trouble.
Iraq will get worse if we have a planned withdrawal, phased withdrawal, or "cut and run." Whether they can succeed again, in 08, by blaming a worsening situation on Bush, will also be interesting.
Near term they can make trouble also: if and when Bush requests supplemental funding for the Iraq war it will be interesting to see how Pelosi acts.
Does anyone know her positions on issues?
