How the Soros shadow government targets its prey: The inside story of the attacks on Curt Weldon
RenewAmerica.us ^ | November 6th, 2006 | Wes Vernon

You are earnestly urged to believe that the attacks and dirty tricks used against Congressman Curt Weldon, a Pennsylvania Republican seeking re-election, have absolutely nothing to do with the following:

1 — Congressman Weldon took the lead in getting House approval of SDI — the missile defense that was bitterly opposed by the Clinton White House. (See this column "Go along to get along? Not this congressman," Oct. 16, 2006).

2 — The idea of a U.S. missile defense system is also opposed (for obvious reasons) by the enemies of the United States (first the Soviet Union, then the terrorists) and their dupes — willing or otherwise — here at home.

3 — Weldon (PA-7) has carried on an endless campaign against embarrassing incompetence in our intelligence agencies. That has earned him no friends at the CIA or the FBI. (See this column "Fire the whole top-level CIA bureaucracy," Jan. 22, 2006)

4 — The ten-term lawmaker has embarrassed powerful interests in both parties because of his spotlighting extreme lack of due diligence in the Able Danger scandal. (See this column "How to handle an inconvenient whistle-blower," April 2, 2006)

5 — He even produced five witnesses from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) who publicly testified that they knew the identity of — and the threat posed by — some of the 9/11 hijackers about a year before the attacks in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. But their warnings were ignored.

6 — Three pre-9/11 appointments that were made for members of the DIA Able Danger team to discuss their findings with the FBI were mysteriously canceled. One congressman — Weldon — has insisted on knowing why and has let it be known he won't stop asking for an answer.

7 — The Pennsylvania lawmaker — who speaks Russian fluently and used that ability in an attempt to encourage Russia toward democracy after the Soviet collapse — was instrumental in exposing the former Soviet Union's violation of the ABM Treaty. Many left-wing liberals in this country resent anyone who played any role in the downfall of the Communist empire. In their socialist minds, they saw the Soviets as a counterbalancing force to the free market culture in the U.S. Rarely will liberals here admit to that view. But I have talked to some who candidly express just that. Weldon — along with Reagan — is on their hate list.

8 — In fact, it has since been revealed that Senator Ted Kennedy (see new book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism) invited then-Soviet dictator Yuri Andropov to come to the U.S. and help the senator counter President Reagan's "militaristic policies" on missile defense. Similarly, ex-President Jimmy Carter (according to the memoirs of then-Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin) in 1984 visited the Soviet embassy and said in so many words: What are we going to do about that madman in the White House? That is what these people think.

9 — Leading the charge against Congressman Weldon is CREW, the misnamed Committee for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. You could call CREW the Committee to Reward Enemies of Weldon. Although it bills itself as "a non-partisan investigative alliance," CREW leadership/staff is chockablock with trial lawyers whose backgrounds with left-wing lawmakers and organizations reads like a Who's Who in what might even be called "the vast left-wing conspiracy."

10 — For a group that claims the mantle of good government and demands accountability from others, CREW is very secretive about its own finances. However, it has acknowledged receiving $100,000 from the foundation of powerful financier George Soros. The ubiquitous Soros has boasted of overthrowing governments abroad and seems to think he can pull that off here in the United States. (See this column "Will George Soros rule America?," Oct. 2, 2006.) Soros's heavily-funded Democracy Alliance in fact helped to jump-start CREW, according to the July 17 Washington Post. CREW executives won't comment on any possible IRS implications of such coordination.

11 — Soros would like to rewrite the U.S. Constitution by 2020. If he can pick off an outspoken street corner conservative like Weldon, so much the better for him. It should surprise no one that Soros would target anyone with respect for the Founding Fathers.

12 — CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan is a former staffer for Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), who will chair the House Judiciary Committee if Soros's puppet Democrats win. Perhaps she envisions re-joining Conyers' staff if he seeks to use the committee chairmanship to impeach President Bush, as he has broadly hinted he intends to do.

13 — The vice president of CREW — Philadelphia trial lawyer Daniel Berger — has maxed out on his own contributions to Weldon opponent Joe Sestak. Remember this is supposed to be a "non-partisan" "objective" "simply good government" group. Its "non-partisan" fig leaf loses credibility given that Berger himself gave more that $150,000 to the Democrat Party and left-wing 527 groups. Berger, his law partners, and relatives have racked up thousands of dollars to Sestak's campaign. More — much more — money has gone to left and Democrat Party groups that likely funneled much of it to Sestak.

14 — Bill Clinton, who has run his own secret police in what amounts to a criminal enterprise before, during, and after his disastrous stint in the White House, campaigned for Sestak, who had served on his National Security Council. In so doing, the ex-president said, "I will not make a single stop in this campaign season that means more to me than this one."

Clinton is one to nurse bitter grudges, including the memory of embarrassments like passing the SDI (which some day may save millions of lives), and blowing the whistle on Able Danger — which may rank as Clinton Administration Scandal No. 5,638. If Weldon survives this election, he may need extra protection. Some people who were an inconvenience to the Clintons have mysteriously died.

15 — John Kerry has helped raise more than $128,000 for Sestak. As has been well-publicized this past week, Senator Kerry has trashed our fighting men and women as stupid losers. In the past he has libeled them as killers of innocents. As reported by the Delaware County Times, here is a quote from Joe Sestak: "I am extremely proud to have Senator Kerry support me.... He has given me extraordinary support from the very beginning of my campaign, from advice to friendship to very significant fundraising assistance."

16 — Sestak has refused to return the money that Kerry raised for him — a Weldon demand that a Sestak spokesman labeled as "silly." The spokesman — Ryan Rudominer — made matters worse for his candidate by excusing Kerry with a churlish comment, "The man misspoke. Move on." In his dreams.

17 — Contributors to the Sestak campaign have included such discredited types as fired CIA operative Mary McCarthy, disgraced NSC Director Sandy Berger (caught stealing documents from the National Archives — perhaps attempting to cover up some of Clinton's misdeeds) — and former CIA Director John Deutch, who was pardoned by Clinton for sloppy handling of classified information.

18 — You understand, of course, that none of this has a thing in the world to do with — ahem — the fact that if Weldon is re-elected, he will be in line to be chairman of the House Armed Services Committee (if the Republicans retain control of the House), or that committee's ranking Republican member (if the Democrats take over). Either way, there are extremely powerful and entrenched interests in Washington — CIA, FBI, media, Pentagon bureaucrats, state department bureaucrats, the Clinton political blackjack operation, the Soros money machine and its offspring "Shadow Government," terrorists, wacko left groups, the whole motley crew — who do not want him in a powerful position on Armed Services. And they will stop at nothing to see that he does not get there.

We could go on and on, but you get the drift. Weldon is an underdog because he is not afraid of anybody.

Three weeks before the election, the FBI raided Weldon's office and that of his 31-year old daughter and her business partner. The related investigation deals with whether or not Weldon used his influence to steer business to his daughter Karen.

Weldon himself brought the matter to the attention of the House ethics committee over two years ago when a newspaper reported on the charge, and says the committee exonerated him of wrongdoing.

It goes without saying that no one is above the law. But the issue is one that has been brewing for more than two years and suddenly pops up in an FBI raid right before the election. That is suspicious, to say the least. I don't buy that stuff that the FBI is always above politics. That went out the window years ago. J. Edgar Hoover had his faults, but he was a beacon of nonpartisan rectitude compared to the FBI as it has morphed since then.

This, after all, is the FBI that covered for a sniper who shot a woman as she held a baby in her arms at Ruby Ridge. This is the FBI that raided Notra Trulock's home when that Energy intelligence official blew the whistle on Wen Ho Lee in the scandal of Communist Chinese theft of nuclear secrets at Los Alamos. This is the FBI whose general counsel gave the Clinton White House a heads up so that its operatives could ambush whistleblower Gary Aldrich for exposing its wrongdoing.

Let us be clear about this: Anyone in Washington who takes on sacred cows year-after-year is asking for trouble. Weldon has served a useful watchdog role. His enemies are ganging up on him big time. They seriously and earnestly want you to believe that the above trail of his record has nothing to do with any of that — that the dirty tricks and unusual political and monetary firepower brought in to discredit a single congressman are all a big coincidence.

As the Delco Times in Weldon's district editorialized, "The timing of the probe stinks. Hang in there, Curt."

I've wondered for quite some time, is Soros even a citizen? Why can't we kick him out of the country for just coming here to tamper with out electoral process just like he was kicked out of Russia for tampering with their currency market? Soros has no right to even be in this country since he opposes all things about it except the radical liberal Democrat party and socialists therein.

For later read.

Soros has instituted a change in government in a number of countries, and is trying on here. Read the DU, and you will see that there is a similar movement brewing here.

Great find. Weldon is my man. This article captures every point of those working against him. I had no idea that Ms. Sloan stands to gain a position if the Dems win. Foolish me.

I don't know why he would bother since all three branches of the fed gov totally ignore it now.

I'm not familiar with Weldon, but as stated on the talk page, I can tell at a glance that this entry is hugely biased:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curt_Weldon

That's the fourth result for his name for both google and yahoo, so I'd suggest editing that entry for accuracy and balance.

I always suspected that nobody could be that much of an incompetent boob and be elected President. Now I'm beginning wonder how much of Carter's disgraceful and historically abysmal performance as CiC was a conscious effort to help deliver this country to Communism?
