Just when you think you can explain everything...somehow.

i flip over to C-Span to find a replay from Wednesday, a Harold Ford Rally in a huge Memphis church, and Bill Clinton is speaking. Oh and Cybill Shepard is in the audience, making a fool of herself.

Clearly on the camera side of the altar podium is a sign that says

"Vote early today Harold Ford Jr., Faith and Family"

HOW DO THEY GET AWAY WITH THAT????

and why isn't the churce audience LOL when Bill Clinton says our God is a God of Second chances?????? then Clinton mocks that slimy playboy ad Harold's opponent put up.

I was only able to watch the beginning of Fox Sunday and am sorry I missed Steele but will catch him on the rerun this evening. This is the closest I have seen Chris Wallace come to overtly nudging the RATs towards Nirvana. When he used the current political wisdom that the state of the races can be judged by what the candidates/parties do and not what they say, I knew what direction this show was headed. He basically said the President was now campaigning in safe GOP districts that had not previously been in play, adding to the doom count for Republicans. He also pushed his own perception that Dennis Hastart was awol and why was that---hoping to turn the discussion to Foley. Boehner caught that one and said the question was where were Reid and Pelosi? Clair McCaskill got a long campaign speech in that lied about the Missouri ballot on embryonic stem cells and advanced to UNNAMED, (and for most voters, unknown) generals and miscellaneous experts, even in the Republican party for goodness sakes, who opposed the war in Iraq . Presumably anyone of whom knows better than President Bush what to do about the WOT. We must not only defeat the socialist, cut and run, RATS, but also the media which has become a third political party aligned with the RATS. Because self serving polls say Republicans will lose does not mean that we will or should. Our destiny rests in our own hands. Prayers up for all of the Republican candidates and their victory on Tuesday.

I have become really, really tired about all of the talking heads obsessing over "negative" campaign ads. It is like the stupid April 15th reporter down at the post office at midnight asking people why they waited to file their taxes. I do not care. But they feel they must intone the same nostrums over and over. "It's bad, it's dirty. Worst they've ever seen. I want just one of them to say he or she doesn't care either. Go ahead one of you. Surprise us. The real issue with these ads is are they truthful or not. If a candidate is an ax muderer, is it nasty to say so in an ad?

But here in Missouri we have ads running that say Talent is against stem cell research when he is no such thing, and all the reporters want to talk about is...Rush Limbaugh. End rant/

I couldn't argree with you more. I wish some deep pocket pubbies would start one. I'd buy stock in a heartbeat.

MHO though she maybe fed up with how FNC is going but I wonder if this also coincides with wanting to slow down and take things a little easier.

Neither her or Brit are getting any younger and they may feel they want time to enjoy their retirement whilst they are fit enough to reap the rewards of their hard work over the years.

Though as often with people like this give it a few months and they yearn the spotlight and hustle and bustle so even if Brit does go next year it could well be that we see them again in some format or other.

Your idea would be great but I seriously doubt they would want deep involvement with a project such as that at their time of life; if one were to evolve that fitted in with their timescale or schedule that is a different matter IMHO.

Here's a report from a McGavick rally in Everett (it's in Snohomish County and just north of Seattle):

November 04, 2006
Re: McGavick Rally in Everett
Fascinating rally today in Everett for Mike McGavick and Republican GOTV efforts. The crowd was about as big as a similar such rally near the end of the 2004 election season for Dino Rossi. Moreover, McGavick is one seriously energized candidate right now, using his pep talk time to give a pretty blistering contrast between he and Maria Cantwell on issues like federal spending, Social Security, and protecting our border. He also blasted Cantwell for letting her position on Iraq turn into more mush than a bowl of oatmeal (my analogy, not his).

Interesting tidbits: GOTV operations statewide and locally are going well. It seems the RNC is actually more engaged in GOTV in the state than they were in 2004. And in an odd turn of events, identified Republicans are returning their ballots at a higher rate than identified Democrats in Snohomish County. In my experience in 2003, 2004, and 2005, it has always been the reverse, though it's tough to read too much into the switch.

But, then there's this. And, w the voter fraud in the last election (and probably the one before that), it's anyone's guess how this will turn out:

Mail Ballot Horror Show (XXIX): Ballot parties for people who can't speak English

Election Reform News
by Stefan Sharkansky, 07:24 PM
KOMO-TV reports:

Ali Molahel speaks very little English, and has never voted before -- not even in Somalia where he's from.

Right now, he's voting, for the first time, casting his votes on a mail-in ballot and getting his questions about the ballot answered.

Abdullah, also from Somalia, is answering his questions and helping him fill out the ballot at a "ballot party" in Kent. The party is organized by an immigrants rights group called Hate Free Zone Washington.

"I'm very happy. I'm glad to vote," said Ali through an interpreter. "It's my first time to vote in the United States of America. It's my home now. America! It's my home."

If he needs an interpreter to say "America! It's my home!", one wonders whether he understands what he's voting on. Or how he passed his naturalization English requirement, or if, in fact, he did.

I cannot believe that Brian Wilson is talking to Bev Harris, the once beloved of the DUmmies and their conspiracy theories.

#471, we are very hopeful and excited. I accidentally called Mahoney Mahomely the other day and it fits. Mahoney is also not articulate, he sounds like Hillary with his "you Know, you know,Uh, lots of dead air on interview shows, even the friendly ones. He is trying to lie a lot and not get caught, and when he is being interview the dead air comes across when he cannot figure out how to twist himself from Liberal to Conservative and not get nailed. I did not even see a Mahoney sign until after the NY times admitted that it was not an automatic Rat seat pick up. I believe that Mahoney thought he would just be able to take over with very little effort. Contrary to what he says, he is not a Conservative and he is not a good Businessman. He ran a company into the ground and lost 1.2 Million for his Clients while collecting over $400,000 in Salary and compensation. He has no experience at all in any kind of Elected Office,or Community Service, while Joe's resume' includes 6 years in the Florida House in Leadership on the important Budget Committee. He was great at cutting out a lot of fat. He is term limited, and cannot run again.

I just got a McCaskill call-a recorded message about changing the tone in Washington. "Washington is broken". Yeah, "Nursing Home Claire" is just the one to fix it. Excuse me while I puke..

Now Bev Harris of blackboxvoting.com is on FOX NEWS, being interviewed by Brian Wilson. She's not predicting election day chaos, but it's definitely gloom and doom. She sued Dibold in 2002, not sure the outcome, and Brian didn't challenge her assertions at all.

Did you rodguy...or anyone else, see Geraldo on Bill O'Reilly's show Friday Night???

BOR promoted Geraldo's appearance saying that Geraldo has a "surefire" way that President Bush can get the GOP to win both houses of Congress...

His idea: To get President Bush to announce before the election, that he will have Iraq have a "special election" with only one question on the ballot. "Do you want the Americans to leave Iraq now?"...and make their answer, THE answer, in that....WE would agree to abide by the vote results!!!

Profound statement. The fiber of our country revealed for all to see. I am hopeful.

Yes, I meant to mention this earlier!

Aligncare came up with a NEW name for the media:

The Democrat Media, or DM for short. I kinda like it!

I also like the Drive By Media or DBM. Maybe we could combine them into the Democrat Drive By Media or "DDBM"?

Our socialist Labour Party...They shout and scream about it but in reality it is part and parcel of their makeup that and increasing taxes directly and indirectly.

The Lefties are always playing to the nickel seats, aren't they? One would think that the repeated failures of their policies might have some effect on the collectivists; but, as we know, Rat's in a maze never learn.

Alexander Hamilton summed it up neatly a couple of centuries or so ago:

There is no part of the administration of government that requires extensive information and a thorough knowledge of the principles of political economy so much as the business of taxation. The man who understands those principles best will be least likely to resort to oppressive expedients, or to sacrifice any particular class of citizens to the procurement of revenue. It might be demonstrated that the most productive system of finance will always be the least burthensome.
