Democrats Plan Quick Action On Agenda (cut and run from Iraq, hearings)
Lexington Herald ^ | Oct. 5, 2006 | Laurie Kellman

Democrats say they will burst out of a 12-year exile with a bang if they win control of Congress on Tuesday. They promise to quickly pass a minimum wage increase at home and to reduce the U.S. war role in Iraq.

Made-for-television hearings would focus on faulty intelligence used to justify the invasion of Iraq, strategic and tactical missteps once there and the sending of troops into combat with insufficient armor, the Democrats say.

From the helm of the House Armed Services committee, they would press for an almost immediate troop drawdown. They also would try to switch the United States from a major role in Iraq to a supporting one -- counterterrorism and logistical tasks rather than patrols of the streets of Baghdad.

All that is assuming the Democrats win, a matter still to be decided by voters.

After this sentence, Democrats will lose more seats in Congress and Senate.

"Democratic-led judiciary committees would launch oversight hearings on the Justice Department's conduct in the war on terrorism, looking at everything from secret searches and wiretaps to how the FBI treats whistle blowers. Would-be Senate Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., says he also would hold hearings on abuse of terrorism detainees and on war profiteering."

Preliminary work to lay ground work for impeachment.

"Capturing the House, the Senate -- or both -- also would allow Democrats to turn Capitol Hill into a pulpit from which to make the case for even more seats in the 2008 elections -- including the Oval Office."

This is for those who have a delusionary belief that after letting the Dems take over now, it will be easy for us to recapture Congress.

What is their agenda? How come it was never presented to the voters? There are still two days - Are they planning to announce an agenda?

They dare not legislate a thing since they ran on NOTHING!

Well, they don't need an agenda, 'cause we will keep our majority.

Their agenda is: raise taxes, cut and run and surrender to the terrorists in the War on terror and get us all killed and institute socialism and redistribution of wealth for those still alive.

She just reappeared.

"This is a freak show, and it has to come to an end," Pelosi said. "This is about a Congress and White House whose purpose is to concentrate wealth into the top 1 percent of our country at the expense of the middle class."

If Democrats win, and Speaker Dennis Hastert is forced to hand the gavel to Pelosi, "I'll receive it, in my view, from the hands of special interests on behalf of America's future."

She is scary, and if Hillary ever had a shot at the WH together, they could make Stalin seem sane.

Wealth redistribution has never worked, and when they want to hike taxes they're always the first ones to moan when investors and businesses move overseas.

Also, don't forget the judges!

There is highly likely that there will be a vacancy in the next couple of years.

"It would be a cruel twist indeed for conservatives to “teach Republicans a lesson” next Tuesday, only to be taught a lesson themselves within months when new Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D.-Vt.) leads a Democratic majority against the most important Supreme Court nominee in decades. Conservatives whose mantra is “no more Souters” should bear in mind Robert Bork’s fate after the Senate changed from Republican to Democratic hands in 1986. "

Pelosi's also characterized Tuesday's vote as a referendum on gay marriage, a woman's right to choose and embryonic stemcell research.
