Ford Claims to Be a Model He’s Not (pro-life, while voting pro-abortion)

Is the Democrat running for Senate in Tennessee just wearing a pro-life costume?

“I'm pro-life, I'm pro-life, Tucker, so I mean, I don’t run from that.”

So Congressman Harold Ford Jr. told MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson on Monday.

It’s often been taken as a given that the attractive, smart, affable Ford is pro-life. On Fox News Sunday this past weekend Chris Wallace stated flatly in addressing Ford, “You are pro-life.”

But is Congressman Ford pro-life? His record suggests otherwise.

According to the National Right to Life Committee, Ford’s claim to be pro-life “is radically at odds with Ford’s 10-year voting record in the U.S. House. Overall, Ford has voted against the pro-life side 87 percent of the time.”

Among his most notable votes cast on this front, Ford voted against “Laci and Conner’s Law,” which recognizes an unborn child who is injured or killed in the commission of a federal crime as a child and crime victim. Even though the bill was not explicitly about abortion, abortion groups considered its implications and thought long term — if we give in here, will it hurt us later? They knew it could very well, and so they opposed the bill, despite Conner Peterson. And so did Harold Ford, even though all but one member of the Tennessee congressional delegation voted for it.

If you carefully parse words, anyone who is alive is Pro-Life.

I am repeating this story, so forgive me. Two weeks ago my parents were in restaurant in Knoxville and Harold Ford approached them. He hugged my Mom and said, "I'm Harold. . ." before he could finish my Dad interrupted, "Yes, I know who you are." Ford replied, "Yes, but did you know that. . ." Again, may Dad interrupted and shot back, "Pretending to be conservative so you can run for statewide office in Tenn? Yes, I knew that." Ford, to his credit, laughed and went away.

Like most Democrats it would seem that Ford is whatever it takes to get elected. After he can buy his way in the next time with political favors. Pro- liar is more like it.

How stupid.

I'm pro life and I sure as hell don't think the federal judges should of gotten involved in it. But I do believe people have a right to choice. Even though my religious beliefs tell me that it's wrong for an abortion. I don't think that the government should be telling us that we can't sin. God gave us a right to sin and the people that do will have to pay the piper.

It should be left up to the states decide and I'll play ball with whoever wins out.. but I do know that God didn't give us a choice for government to take it away.

Not only pro-LIAR but anti-military. He's been trying to pretend he's a Zell Miller.

Watched him yesterday. Love how he kept tagging his deep religion to his sleeve too. I'd say he's a graduate of the Cliton LIEberals Arts College.

Democrats advocate murdering innocent individuals with vacuum cleaners, foreceps crushing skulls and snapping spines, and burning/poisoning with saline solution.

Democrats lie repeatedly.

Democrat masquerade as something they are not to win an election.

In other news the sun will rise tomorrow.

Your opinion is quite illogical (if it is indeed your opinion and you weren't quoting Ford).

Abortion is murder. Of course everyone has a free will to sin, but doesn't mean we have to sit back and allow it to happen.

Would you have let the nazis continue with their "sinning" in their evil human experiments? According to your logic they had a "right to sin" and so should be left alone only to be judged by God when the time comes. That's ridiculous. As it ridiculous not to fight now to prevent the infanticide that's going on.

Do you let people going on lying and committing adultery?

It's not illogical to have your country act one way and you personally act another.

I want my country to do whatever it has to do to keep me and my family alive. I guarantee you that it involves things that God doesn't approve of. Do you have a problem with that?

People want to kick out illegals instead of providing them with food and shelter. That is also against the principles of the Bible... are you for kicking out all illegals?

A society has different rules than the religions within it. If it doesn't then you get countries like Iran. Do you want that?

So clearly if Ford's position is to be personally against abortion but to vote allowing it in come capacity that it is not illogical. If his position includes allowing the unborn to be aborted at 8 months when it is completely viable outside the womb then you might have an issue.
