INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The National Commander of The American Legion called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for suggesting that American troops in Iraq are uneducated.
"As a constituent of Senator Kerry's I am disappointed. As leader of The American Legion, I am outraged," said National Commander Paul A. Morin. "A generation ago, Sen. Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers. It wasn't true then and his warped view of today's heroes isn't true now."
While addressing a group of college students at a campaign rally in Pasadena, CA., Monday, Kerry suggested that they receive an education or "if you don't, you'll get stuck in Iraq."
"While The American Legion shares the senator's appreciation for education, the troops in Iraq represent the most sophisticated, technologically superior military that the world has ever seen," Morin said. "I think there is a thing or two that they could teach most college professors and campus elitists about the way the world works.

I did. The poor aid who picked up the phone seemed defiant, and in no way did I end the call believing that an apology would be forthcoming.
I then called up my Senators. Stabenow is worthless on the floor (as we know). Levin might have the 'nads to get an apology, but I doubt that he'll demand one since Levin isn't up for election.

As much as I love and appreciate the Swift Boat guys, I think they should sit this one out, only because it'll give the media something to focus on other than Kerry's words. You'll get headlines saying "Swift Boaters attacking Kerry Again" or something like that.
Kerry never would have made this statement if Bush didn't send troops to Iraq! ;o)
They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

The Swift boat guys have followed JFKerry for decades, since his testimony before the House. Kerry certainly knew about them before the Dem convention in '04, even contacting them in an attempt to buy them off.
After the "Captain Kerry reporting for duty" hype in the Dem Convention, Kerry then claimed to be surprised when the Swifties went public.
Kerry claimed that the Swifties were GOP-backed (no doubt had GOP backers), and should know about such things since he created Cindy Sheehan.
