Tonight's "John Ziegler Show" on KFI 640AM in Southern CA played a clip from Senator John F Kerry's appearance at Pasadena City College with candidate Phil Angelides, Democrat for CA governor.

At the event, Kerry had this to say about our brave military volunteers:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

In the preface of his book, War Stories, this is how Oliver North described our military:

"... And while there is no typical soldier or Marine, it is possible to describe the average young American who carries a weapon into battle.

"He a volunteer, 19.6 years old .... He isn't old enough to buy a beer, and if he were back home in the USA we'd call him a boy.

"... he was probably a team sports athlete in high school and graduated somewhere in the middle of the pack, making him better educated than any prior generation in our military.

"... He has a short haircut and tight muscles, and wears a 4-pound Kevlar helmet and an 18-pound flak jacket to work. He can march all day in 100 degree heat with a 60-pound pack on his back. This young man in uniform knows how to use every weapon in his unit and he can fieldstrip and reassembly his own weapon in less than a minute - in the dark. In Iraq he's gone weeks without bathing, but cleans his weapon every day.

"Under fire he obeys orders instantly. He's been taught chemistry, physics, and ballistics, and can navigate with a map and compass but prefers the GPS he bought at the base exchange.

"Before joining the military he couldn't be bludgeoned into picking up his room, doing his laundry, or washing the dishes, but now he's remarkably self-sufficient. He prepares his own meals, washes and mends his own clothes, digs his own foxhole and latrine, and keeps his feet dry and his canteens full.

"The kid who once wouldn't share a candy bar with his little brother will now offer his last drop of water to a wounded comrade, give his only ration to a hungry Iraqi child, and split his ammo with a mate in a firefight.

"He's been trained to use his body like a weapon and his weapon as if it were a part of his body - and uses either to take a life or save one, but that is his job. He will offer his own food and water to enemy prisoners of war, and go out of his way to make certain that captured enemy wounded get medical help.

"The youngster who used to stay in the sack until noon now exists on just 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day.

"By now he's already had more responsibility and seen more suffering and death than most of his civilian contemporaries will see in their entire lifetimes.

"He's learned a whole new vernacular of foreign-sounding words. It's not Iraqi Arabic, but military shorthand. He uses words like CONUS, h-hour, zulu time, incoming, snafu, and fubar that mean nothing to most civilians.

"He's been told that grown men don't cry, but he has wept unashamedly in public over a fallen friend ... And though he can now take profanity to the level of an art form, it's also likely that he has a Bible in his rucksack and isn't afraid to be seen reading it.

"He's proud to be serving his country, reveres his commander in chief, and knows that he is respected in return.

...

"These are the young Americans who beat the Butcher of Baghdad. Their skill and daring, discipline and endurance are without parallel in the world today.

We all owe you an immeasurable debt - God Bless and best wishes!!

As for John "Vichy" Kerry, how dare he slander all Iraq veterans with such an imbecilic taunt, and what on earth would he know about studying hard or achieving things on his own? He was a "Gentleman's C" student at Yale, then made a career out of deserting his comrades and reviling them on the home front while they still fought and died.

He married two VERY wealthy women (can't be a coincidence, you'd have to make quite a devoted effort to marry twice into wealth of hundreds of millions of dollars, especially if you don't already exist in those circles). No one ever got farther on less talent and less work and less character than John "Vichy" Kerry.

Very sad coming from someone who was a heartbeat away from being our POTUS.
What a complete and utter scum-nificently-stinkin-bag.

(Just wanted to dress it up for this east coast Martha's Vineyard POS)....

Actually, it helps to have him talk. He should get his own talk show. It will ensure he never becomes President.

The gift that just keeps on giving. My son goes to PCC, and he was on campus today, along with all the added security. Makes you proud when California pays all that extra money to protect important people like this, who care so much for the "little" people.

This should seal the deal for the Republicans retaining Congress, once word spreads over the Internet and talk radio.

Liberals hate the military. America's military, in any case. Kerry is a shirker and malingerer who ran away from Vietnam after three months and three scratches, two of which were probably self-inflicted. He used his cameo appearance in the war zone as a platform from which to declare real warriors as like unto the "hordes of Ghengis Khan." What a thoroughly despicable poseur and phony.
This should be front page on every paper in the country, But the MSM will spike it.

That comment is no different than the way the liberal elite and the entire democratic party feels about the military. They despise the military.

The democrats are 'for the military'---until it comes to counting their votes.

Well .. you are so very welcome. The first time I read that I just burst into tears.

I love the last line: "Their skill and daring, discipline and endurance are without parallel in the world today."

More than a few politicians could learn a lot from these young people.

Ask your son if he can find anyone who attended and see if Kerry qualified his words in any way.

The Cowaedly, and the betrayers, allways
dress up their fear of the valiant with
contempt & disdain. Feigning bravado, in
attempts to cover their fear of being
exposed for what they are.

12 PROFOUND MINUTES

[Posted by: Major John]

The Army provides a 12 minute explanation of "Boots on the Ground." I just left a meeting of several hundred Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers a few hours ago. When this film clip was shown, there was stone silence when it ended. A profound message for those of us who have been given the honor, the privilege, and the responsibility to leader Soldiers.

Clip is here:

This does not surprise me. In one of the congressional races in Minnesota, the DFL challenger (Coleen Rowley) approved an ad replacing John Kline's Marine Corps uniform with that of an SS officer. She has even made comments that those who have served in the military are not fit to participate in the political process. One of her supporters is John Murtha - hold on a second, did not Murtha also serve in the Marine Corps. Oops, silly me, John Murtha became a turncoat traitor and a disgrace to the Corps so he's exempt from Rowley's sweeping opinion.
