HEVESI SMOOCHES UP POL PAL (Not his wife)
New York Post - Page Six ^ | 10/30/06 | Richard Johnson

Posted on 10/30/2006 10:33:26 AM PST by conservative in nyc

THE heat on embattled State Comptroller Alan Hevesi is bringing unwanted attention to his relationship with Queens City Councilwoman Melinda Katz, who has long been his political protégé.

"It's an open secret in Queens political circles," one lawmaker told Page Six. "She kisses him on the lips in public, and he went to war with the county organization to get her elected."

"It's common knowledge," said another politico. "I've seen them making out."

One pol said he spotted them canoodling years ago one night at Terrace on the Park, the catering facility near La Guardia Airport.

Although Katz is single, Hevesi, of course, is married.

Katz did not respond to detailed questions e-mailed to her BlackBerry and left on her cellphone yesterday, while Hevesi said, "I'm not responding" before hanging up the phone. Already under heavy fire for using taxpayer money to chauffeur his ailing wife, Hevesi has also been caught employing seven full-time retired cops as "confidential" aides to provide transportation and security.

The Post reported yesterday he spent $486,903 last year on the drivers - more than twice as much as state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, who has yanked his endorsement of Hevesi for re-election.

Hevesi's chief-of-staff, Jack Chartier, also regularly had a state employee drive actress Peggy Lipton around town in a state car equipped with lights and siren when he was dating her two years ago.

"Chartier's driver took her shopping, to the hairdresser, the doctor and the airport," said one source. "The state car was often left for hours blocking a fire hydrant, with a police placard under the windshield, in front of Lipton's residence."

Lipton, the ex-wife of music producer Quincy Jones, now lives in Los Angeles. But she was living at 11 E. 74th St. when the unmarried Chartier was romancing her.

Hmmm. Hevesi seemed so devoted to his wife during the recent debate.

RAT politicians flaunt their adulteries and other sexual peccadillos and actually wear them like badges of honor.
And the sheeple keep voting them into office. Sick.

I have actually heard people tell me that adultery is a little more understandable when one's wife is near invalid.

I can't imagine how cold you'd have to be to believe that.

When she's in such ill health is the very time she will need her husband the most. OK, so I'm not married, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. But if I really loved my wife, I just couldn't fathom doing such a thing.

If this guy were running in my area, the only way I'd ever vote for him is if his only opponent was the devil himself. And even then, it'd be a near thing.

My father used to know him professionally (not politically) and thought he was a decent guy. Since last spring, I've been forwarding all the press clippings I can find on Hevesi to Dad, starting with the stories about Hevesi opening his fat mouth and saying that he wouldn't mind seeing the President shot.

Alan Hevesi aims high!

Alan Hevesis chick on the side

The crew that thought Mary Landrieu was cute will probably think Katz is a babe, too.

Hmm. Interesting.

The article doesn't mention his political party affiliation.

I'm sure that was just an oversight

The New York Post is no fan of Alan Hevesi. Any New Yorker who is not living under a rock knows he's a Democrat - and any New York City resident knows over 9 times out of 10, NYC Councilman means Democrat.

Ever since the clintons went into office in arkanaid, and then in the government, our morals have gone in the gutter...

If it was ok for the POTUS to have sex by an intern in the Oval Office, then by their rights its okey to have affairs with anyone and anything, ie: jim mcgreevy....'

Until we rid our country of the clintons and their ilk, we will have this trash all through our offices...

He is a Democrat and finally the Republican party has seen fit to run some tv ads hitting him for his "ethics"......sad, sad thing that NYers could even think to vote for him.

---------------------------------

I complaimed to his staff after that and Hevesi called me within an hour to apologize, not explain, apologize. Hard to figure out.

NYC is so Democrat that Giuliani and Bloomberg encouraged people to vote for them on the Liberal line because of the Dems who can't bring themselves to pull the Republican lever. And, frankly, if it weren't for the Liberal endorsement, we'd have had Dinkins and Messinger as Mayors. Ugh.
