Murphy saw combat in Iraq as an Army captain. Kerry came to his defense after two Iraq war veterans accused Murphy of exaggerating his combat role, saying he spent more time at headquarters than on the front, a charge the candidate strongly disputes.

Well since his opponent did question Murphy's survice then I suppose it's a legitimate question. What has Fitzgerald done to defend his country?

Hold on there. Fitzpatrick never served, but if Murphy is lying then it's a legitimate attack. As a veteran I am far more offended by fake war hero crap than I am by people who have not served expecting to hold positions in a civilian government. Offering your blood to this nation should be enough, and is enough, for most vets to be proud of. Embellishment ususally points to a serious character problem.

Is there some reason a civilian is not allowed to discuss evidence of lying by a veteran of the armed forces?
