Conservatives must see 2006 for what it truly is: the opportunity of a decade. By beating the MSM and Democrat created odds and hype, conservatives can further heap coals on liberal heads. But more than that, they can pierce leftist Democrats most valuable political asset...

I agree
This has been my belief for some time now.
Cool! I like that: an opportunity...
IMO, the GOP needs to be highly viligant against Liberal/Dummy voter fraud. Liberals count on "voter fraud" to win.
Will do!
I do too. Conservatives are optimistic, just like Reagan. Not naive, but optimistic.
And it IS an opportunity. Can you imagine what would happen if Dems didn't perform up to their expectations?!
How great would that be?!
Exactly what I've been saying. It's all on the line for them.
I think that it is WHEN they don't perform up to expectation...
The DUmmies over at DU will be slitting their wrists in between posting about voter fraud and ROVE!
RYMB!!
That's SO true! If they come up short, liberalism is toast.
Good point.
How long do you think it will take them to begin screaming foul? Heck, they probably already have the press releases drafted and loaded.
Here's the money quote:
Still, even if Democrats take back control of the Congress it will not be because of a popular mandate. Voters will not be endorsing liberalism qua liberalism. No, they will be demonstrating their levels of so-called Bush fatigue; voters will be showing that they are frustrated that history has bequeathed unto us the daunting and tiresome task of doing the heavy lifting of history that a post-9-11 world now demandsand will continue to demandfor years to come. Moreover, if conservatives stay home it will be out of frustration that Republicans havent been conservative enough. But illegal immigration, excessive spending, and the successful prosecution of the War on Terror will only grow worse if limousine liberals like Nancy Im pro-union but dont allow my own employees to unionize Pelosi glide into the Speakers office.
Salivating at the prospects of a massive Republican defeat and a Democratic takeover, the liberal mainstream media have inflated voter expectations to near record levels. Whereas in 1994 the MSM worked to tamp down the prospects of a Republican Revolution, today they are spitting out GOP gloom and doom scenarios at warp speed. And for once, every conservative and Republican should thank them for doing so. By setting the Democratic bar for success so high, the conservative movement has been given the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to demoralize and dismiss much of the Democratic Partys liberal agenda...
He*l they are ALREADY screaming foul! Before the voting has even really began! (For more on this read the last few of PJ's DUmmie FUmmies - in case anyone missed them).
I can't wait for Nov. 7 - but for a far different reason then the dimacrats!
You make a compelling argument for doing so. Probably should have.
:))... next time. Thanks for posting it! :)
I still believe in a place called Liberals' Shattered Hopes.
November 8th after a big loss for dems will be a good time to watch Katie and Chrissy Matthews. The miserable hungover looks on their faces (like in '94) was just good comedy.
