Lets just say that now he knows for sure, and his soul is in a terrible bind. Its a lot hotter where he is now than he has ever been before.

That is, I am unable to judge his soul, as only God can see into a man's heart and judge his essence...and I was giving him the benifit of the doubt and assuming he had been saved at some point. But saved or not, I agree with you that he's wishing he could have done things differently right now.

I'd hope that in spite of strong feelings towards him that people can show a little decorum.maybe somebody besides me can.....I think I'll just walk on by this thread.....

I wonder what St. Peter said to him when he arrived at the Pearly gates?
To: justche
I would say it will truly suck to be him from here on to eternity.

Is it possible that dying slowly of cancer would make you unrightously blame God, and seek to expunge Him from the world? He hasn't been dying of cancer for 17 years, has he?

Yep. And like most atheist he went out in a blaze of apathy.
So let's all give a big shrug and turn the page.

It's so sad - it sounds like not only is he entering a lost eternity, but was lacking of the comfort trust in God can give in your last days.
If your enmity with God is so severe that you spend the last years of your life fighting a symbol from even being seen, can you imagine the bitterness of his life?
I pray that his family experiences an awakening.

Cancer is a horrible, terrible, painful way to go.
I may have disagreed with his stand, but I cannot rejoice over his. Yes, I am puzzled over his bizarre fixation with the cross and why it so vexed him that he dedicated what was left of his short life to eradicate it.
But, his life was as precious as mine or yours. I hope he found God before he died. And some peace.

He'd have died a lot sooner if Rosie O'Donnell's ravings about Christians were true. (I'm not a Christian, btw)

The end of an empty life. If all you are is defined as opposing the public display of a religious symbol, there can't be much to your life. Placing a cross does no one any harm (unlike taxes and gun control), and to oppose it simply shows the spirit of a malicious busybody.

It often puzzles me why it is that those who take such offense at the Cross (or anything else that references Christ) are apparently so blinded by their irrational feelings and attitudes that they cannot perceive the truth that their behavior is actually establishing the truth of what Christ said about Himself, namely that he will be "a rock of offense" ...to those who reject Him.
I tend to view such folks as a sort of inside sad ironic, if not humorous, joke that He uses to confirm the faith of Christians.

Would have been nice that he lived to see the court tell him to go pound sound and leave the Cross alone. The Courts did. Many times.

Good riddance to a kook who tried to destroy American decency. In this case a war memorial that has a Christian cross incorporated into it. I happen to be Jewish and have no use for such anarchists. His activities hurt American morale
