WASHINGTON - A drug raid on a Los Alamos scientist's home in New Mexico turned up what appeared to be classified documents taken from the nuclear weapons lab, the FBI said Tuesday. Police discovered the documents at the scientist's home while making an arrest in a methamphetamine investigation, according to an FBI official in Washington who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the case.
The police alerted the FBI to the documents, prompting a federal search of the unidentified female scientist's home. The official would not describe the documents except to say that they appeared to contain classified material.
Asked about the raid, FBI special agent Bill Elwell in Albuquerque, N.M., confirmed that a search warrant was executed on Friday night, but he refused to discuss details.
"We do have an investigation with regard to the matter, but our standard is we do not discuss pending investigations," Elwell said.
A spokesman for the Los Alamos National Laboratory, in Los Alamos, N.M., declined to comment.

She chinese, by chance?
Does he own a large photocopy machine? Because if you look behind it, you might find some disks with top secret info (like at Los Alamos)...
Problems were so widespread that Congress forced the contract for management of the lab to go up for bid for the first time ever. However, after bidding, the contract was re-awarded to the same contractor: the University of California.
Do we just have complete idiots making these decisions? Or perhaps Clinton appointees?
"She chinese, by chance?"
My first thought too!!!!
Well, all the best cowboys have chinese eyes.
UT - Austin had bid on the contract, but didn't get it. Luckily for them.
When Joe nobody gets busted we get a name.
Hey, Los Alamos is an expensive place to work and live. Lots of people probably moonlight.
They are one and the same.
LOL.....a good Freeper NEVER forgets, do they?
expect this story to "vanish" just like everything else on this topic.
U of C has held this contract forever...way past Clinton. They simply aren't competent to manage an organization.
