The two independents will vote with the Democrats, giving a 50-50 split if the Republicans lose five. In that case the Republicans would continue to control the Senate because of Dick Cheney having the tie-breaking vote (unless they can bribe a RINO to defect...but the scenario which gives the 'Rats a five-seat gain includes winning Rhode Island, whose RINO senator is the most likely to pull a Jeffords).

Actually, I'm beginning to think a Hilary run is the best option. She would certainly mobilize the repub base while splitting the D base. Barama scares me - he might have a better chance.

South Dakota...what a beautiful state. We traveled through when we visited Mt Rushmore.

At the time Dashole was one of your senators but we knew his time wouldn't last after talking to some Dakotans.

Mayo clinic employs Tom Thumb? If Mayo wants to re route the line around Rochester, they should pay for the privilege, not the taxpayer.

Thanks, we do have some gorgeous scenery here.
Rerouting the railroad is not an option, so Mayo's (Tom's) objections could be a deal killer.
Wonder if T.D. will be "shocked and deeply saddened" by the loss of jobs to his former constituents. Or is this just petty payback on his part?

RI and MT are likely Dem pickups, but the rest are tossups or leaning GOP in my view.

Which keeps the Senate in GOP hands unless the two independents side with the Democrats for Senate control.

I thought it would be +1 for Republicans...since Cheney is President of Senate.

Oh no. Even with 50/50 Senate the GOP will still maintain control because of Vice President Cheney having can cast the deciding 51 vote. You need to learn some civic lessons on how Congress work before you post. I know that the DUmmyland where you came from is full of ignorant delusional idiots, so learn some civic lesson here on FR before you get banned which will be soon.

You're right about MT: it is being deluged by liberals fleeing liberal CA. They bring their liberalism with them. Plus, Burns is just a weak incumbent, rightly or wrongly in the eyes of gullible voters.

Are you from Quebec or France?

Neither. I'm an American. In 14 years I get to celebrate my family's 400th anniversary in this country. Both sides have been here since the 1640's. I live in NJ but grew up in eastern NC.

I do have French ancestors. They left France to invade England. They were successful.

Agreed. However, only he himself has to blame due to scandals.

Who gives a crap what Dasschole thinks? Even the Dems in his own state gave him the "SEE YA!" vote of no confidence last time around.

The Republicans will retain control of both houses of Congress, and anyone who doesn't think so will soon find out just how wrong they are.
