Nearly everone swears, it is where you swear that is important. You must show respect to strangers and never assume they enjoy hearing it.

Swearing in our home has been on a very steep decline since February. Why February? We moved from the SF Bay Area to a small town in Nevada. We found a church and are in the fold of a wonderful church family. We now have a zero tolerance policy.

The other day I went to my mailbox and there was a group of boys who couldn't be more than 8 years old. One of them was going on and on and screaming "fa_ _ot" over and over at one of the other boys. I finally turned around and told them to knock it off as they were being disrepectful to me and each other. Surprisingly they shut their mouths - at least until I was out of ear shot.
