Hillary Clinton is running in a phantom race for the Senate, pitted against an unknown, unqualified opponent. In the unlikely event that New Yorkers ever learn what John Spencers views are, most would find them far too conservative. Its a measure of the haplessness of Mr. Spencers campaign that the Republican nominee has been dogged by rumors that his real aim is to prepare the ground for an attempt to regain his old job as mayor of Yonkers.

The empress has no clothes (sorry for that harrowing mental image). To be fair, Celebrity got her the Senate Seat in 2000. Whether FR likes it or not, she reflects the dominant values of the electorate of NY State. She represents them, and they approve.
Wow! Dog bites man!
You nailed it. Since she has no viable opposition, the debate will be nothing but carefully scripted sound bites that are focused less on the debate and more to avoid any future use against her in a Presidential campaign. She's got the Senate race in the bag and won't even care about answering questions. She will be focused on avoiding any faux paws (pun intended) that will hurt her in the '08 election.
And New York has the bag in the Senate race.
BTW, I am shocked...SHOCKED!!...to discover that tne New York Times endorses Hillary Clinton. No wonder people no longer buy it: they know what it's going to say before they even print it.
P.S. -- My wife says she thought the big Democrat slogan this year was "Vote for Change." How does voting for the incumbent create change?
This is news?
That's why she never puts herself in a position to think on her feet -- just like her husband, they have to be scripted or else they get into deep trouble.
Pravda endorses an incumbent Socialist? I'm Shocked!
This endorsement was pre-written. All someone had to do was hit F12 and it appeared in today's editions.
And neither will the NYT's. . .and their 'et als'. And their analysis will be pure gloss-on.
What a winner she will be. . .
*gives Elaine Benis shove" "Get OUT of here!"
There MUST be way to force her into a position where she HAS to answer REAL questions. She has never ONCE been put on the spot. What do they do ban certain reporters from talking to her ?
New York Times: The New York Slime.
Hillary Clinton: The New York Slime.
Perfect pair made in HELL....
No s***.
Imagine if they endorsed Spencer. Thousands would have heart attacks for starters.
One of the talking heads addressed this recently. Being a former First Lady, she's surrounded by Secret Service. She's cushioned from anything and anyone that she doesn't want to deal with.

They act like this is a big deal. Hillary has already let it be known that she will be trying to get her old job back too. She will be Acting First lady while Bubba is acting President, if she can pull it off.
New Yorkers are right behind Massachusetts voters when it come to being stupid.
I can't help wondering if she will participate in those awful, drawn out, boreing debates the Dems went through in 2003/04 trying to narrow the field. Somehow, I can't imagine her "lowering" herself to do so, yet to win in the primaries she may actually have to learn to debate and think on her feet.
