I hate to be cynical but what is the point of doing this investigation three years after the actual incident and after this has gone through the court? This is some pretty transparent and poorly executed election year gamesmanship. There are a number of more important issues they could be working on.

Perhaps you're incurious about the incident, but I know a lot of people who are wondering WHY Sandy Berger stole secret documents pertaining to the Clinton administration's terrorism policies from government archives (stuffed into his pants and socks) and admitted destroying some of them, returning others (are they the originals?) and all for no apparent benefit to himself.
Only a fool would believe that he would do this for some petty reason which WOULDN'T be of national interest.

I wanted to see this investigation conducted a long time ago. Is there something more that Congress has become aware of?

(Let's not enforce laws that are already on the books, let's just write new laws we won't enforce.)

"Hunter's spokesman, Joe Kasper, said the Justice Department had asked Congress to hold off on any oversight until the legal case concluded."
It's only been a year since Berger was sentenced, and the investigation isn't just about Berger, it's going to include a review of the security measures in place that allowed the removal of classified documents to begin with, and to prevent classified security information from ever being compromised again.
