Lamborn's positions on the issues are not in question. His character is. Lamborn enraged a lot of Republicans with the vile campaign he ran, particularly against Crank.

The high "undecided" percentage in the poll cited I think is a result of a lot of normally "automatic" Republican voters wrestling with their consciences -- can they vote for such a man even if he's right on the issues? Congressman Hefley isn't the only solid Republican who's having trouble supporting Lamborn.

Actually, character is always an issue, and not just in these discussion forums.

At times the character or lack thereof of the subject of a posting may be in question. At other times it may be that the person posting has an axe to grind and that their intensity and presentation raises questions.

I do not know you well enough to reach a conclusion about your character, but your intensity and presentation per this House race do trouble me.

Mr. Lamborn has been a good and courageous conservative State Senator. He has been principled and fair in his deportment while serving in the State Senate in Denver.

Nothing you have presented changes my opinion of Mr. Lamborn. He was in a tough primary and defeated all other candidates.

I do not live in his district, so did not vote for anyone in that primary. Perhaps you did. If your preferred candidate lost, that is now behind us.

If you are an ardent conservative, you will support Mr. Lamborn.

This is not a personal attack on you but is directed at what I see as a defeatist attitude by some this election year.

I said much the same thing to Republican friends last cycle who were very unhappy about Pete Coors beating out their preferred US Senate candidate in the Republican primary.

Some listened but others sat out the election. The quitters helped elect Democrat Ken Salazar to the US Senate.

Don't be a quitter.

God bless,
Sursum Corda
