NEW YORK -- It takes an anniversary, and a lot of sales, to inspire a new edition.
Hillary Rodham Clinton's "It Takes a Village" is being reissued in December, with a new foreword by the senator, to mark the book's 10th year since publication.
"When we published `It Takes a Village' 10 years ago, Hillary Rodham Clinton brought to the fore her long-standing concerns about how public policy affects our children in ways both large and small," Carolyn Reidy, president of Simon & Schuster, said in a statement released Tuesday.
"Though new readers continually discover this influential and important book, we asked Sen. Clinton for permission to commemorate its timeless message for a new generation by releasing a special tenth anniversary edition."
Released when Clinton was first lady, "It Takes a Village" was a call for community involvement in child-rearing and was widely seen as an attempt to soften her image after her failed effort to change the nation's health care system.

Great, and just when I ran out of Charmin.
Our children? She means "we" must corrupt the minds of the ones we do not kill.
All part of the "Hillary for Dictator '08" regime.
Hillary is a "Communist"
Being in certain clubs it helps a parent a whole lot when a child realizes he's not going to get away with anything just because mom or dad is occupied with something else at the moment. Or how it used to be that if a child acted up 50 years ago that a neighbor could deal with the problem without worrying about a child's parent is going to press charges for talking harshly to precious little junior. This is how the "village" is supposed to work. Parents helping each other out. Not Hillary's version where the government is the village and the parents do nothing.
Yep, I can see it now. Hillary will be on the Today Show, and other magazine type shows plugging the book. But it's already been written. So will she talk about what's happened in the past 10 years since the book was written? And how Republicans being in charge have made the state of childhood so bad?
And then she can hint that she will be part of the solution as she gears up to run for pres????
Just wondering why in the heck she would make a big deal of the 10th anniversary of her book?
It'll take an election to show Hillary that normal Americans despise her.
The idea that this pro-abort, pro-homosexual indoctrination woman is "for the children" is just ridiculous. She is a danger to the children.
I hope so, but like most Dictators, SHE knows what's best for the masses...
And we know how they treated people that were pounced on and abused by slick willie when he got off the porch.
Remember: It takes a Viking to raze a village. ;)
And of course, Rick actually wrote his book himself without the services of a ghost writer...
It takes a village to keep an eye on Shrillery's husband.
Clinton certainly plundered the women in their village...Seems I heard that Hitlary could also go berserker...
"Well Matt, it's obvious that since I've written my book that the current Republican Administration has done more to hurt children than any other. But, on the positive side, I have it on good authority that since reading my book, (insert Repub challenger name here) has stopped beating his kids."
