Roads will be jammed both ways; the State game just let out a little bit ago and there was NO annoucement at the game!
I expect the FBI there shortly, to investigate a crime against the environment.
Hazmat situations can change on a moment's notice.

People already showing up at Rex.
Are you near McGregor Downs?
Big explosion and fire. 15,000 evac'd. (1/2 the town.) Chlorine gas. That was it. It was on the 30 min. break update.
You have to go now: they just declared a state of emergency.
"Major roads into town, including U.S. 1 and Center Street, were blocked off. Traffic on the Beltline, Interstate 440, was stopped because of the disruptions and the late conclusion [11:30pm] of the N.C. State football game at sold-out Carter-Finley Stadium."
God help them.
Just North of Zebulon.
Burn itself out?
Burning itself out is the cheapest and safest way to get rid of the chemicals
I do not know.
Geez, looking on TV, it's a damn party down there! Everybody talking to the TV people. Still smiling.
Until they can figure out what is burning and the risk of explosions, going in to fight it would be extremely hazardous.

"Thousands evacuated in N.C. town because of plant fire, cloud"
10/06/2006
Associated Press
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "In addition to the gas cloud, there also was a fire from the same plant, EQ Industrial Services, Radford said. The plant had a variety of volatile chemicals inside, including chlorine, he said.
The Web site for EQ Industrial Services says the company operates an extensive fleet of specialized industrial cleaning equipment that provides customers with a way to manage both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes."
Good call for the town manager.
I guess that will be their defense at the trial, huh?
Don't wait too long. Chlorine gas turns into Hydrochloric Acid when it comes in contact with moisture (such as on the interior of lungs). Very hazardous.
I am taking a stab in the dark, but I am guessing the Apex Volunteer Fire Department doesnt have a hazmat response.
